Any other topics you’d like to discuss? Your overall opinion of the story and series?

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I really enjoyed finding out the truth behind Martha's disappearance and seeing Max able to put it behind her.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I enjoyed getting to the heart of Martha. It is great insight into what Max's life could have turned into if Martha didn't drop her off and forget her.

I loved this story. There was so much background information given. I loved the series until the end of this book. I want to know what her grandmother does when she finds out she has another granddaughter.

I want her Uncle's reaction to another granddaughter getting a portion of "his" inheritance. I want to know how Max does as a guardian of Eve. Finally, I want to know how Max and Ryan work out.

There are way too many questions to end this series here. I'm thinking about sending Brennan a note. She does respond to fans.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I have the same questions, Sharon. Brennan wanted to continue the series, but the publishers didn't want to. I read that in the questions Goodreads readers asked about this book.

Don’t send her a note…those questions are addressed in Cut and Run. I know because I peeked😏

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Good to know. So we don't lose Max completely.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 9239 comments Mod
Nope!

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments Good to know, Jonetta. Thanks!

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments The publisher didn't want to continue the series? Does anyone know if this series wasn't popular with readers? I enjoyed it and thought each book was better than the last.

Jonetta, I'm glad we get some answers down the road.

Robin, there were lots of reviews and ratings but none of the books made the bestseller lists as far as I can tell.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I don't have much respect for the intelligence of the reading population as a whole when books like Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train stay on the bestseller lists for weeks or when authors like Nicolas Sparks and Danielle Steel regularly make the list.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments You're right, Anita. Sometimes I'll read a best seller and wonder how it even got published.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 9239 comments Mod
Unfortunately, that translates into sales and drives publisher decisions.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree Anita.

I’m sorry but differences in reading tastes aren’t a measure of intelligence. Let’s be fair.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments As my grandmother used to say, some people's taste is all in their mouth.
