We soon learn that Gabriel has a 16-year old daughter, Eve. Did you immediately suspect she was Martha’s daughter or did that come later?

It was the first thought that crossed my mind. I thought that Gabriel had Martha locked up or sent away to protect their daughter.

[Melissa]

It came later for me. I never suspected that she was Martha and Gabriel's daughter, though.
Sharon - I never thought of that, but it would have made sense.

I suspected from the beginning.

As soon as she was introduced, I knew she was Martha’s daughter. I couldn’t imagine, though, that Gabriel was her father given her relationship with Jimmy.

I guessed that Eve was Martha's daughter early in the story. I figured this was why Gabriel was so hostile. He didn't want anyone else figuring out who Eve's mother and father were.
