Query abandoned by poster > Sci-fi (old) about a man who lived in the future. He was a reporter (possibly.) The people either lived for at least 200 years or longer. They usually went through gender swaps at about the 100 year mark. Little girl ghost; biodomes.

They usually went through gender swaps at about the 100 year mark.

There was also a ghost of a little girl involved somehow. People would go to these colonies that were contained in biodomes and they would see these ghosts walking around the planet.

Main character possibly commits suicide at the end to become a ghost.

Sorry for being vague it was years and years ago that I read it.

Kendra,

This sounds sort of like Steel Beach. It is set on a lunar colony, the main character is a reporter, sex changes are routine, and there are reports of ghosts as you described. (view spoiler)

Yeah, I think it's "Steel Beach"

Michael Roseman (mroseman) | 3 comments No real ghosts in "Steel "Beach" and main character, Hildy Johnson, doesn't kill her/himself at the end. But she is a reporter and sex changes are common. The book is set in the same universe as "The Golden Globe" and is very much an homage to Heinlein's "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress." Excellent novel.
