Book opens in the present day with a discovery of brains/skulls under a camp somewhere. These were from prisoners of an evil doctor working for the Nazi's. Scientists somehow implant the brains/memories into dead 'donors' and brings them back to life, not knowing that one of the brains was from the doctor who did the experiments in the first place as a way to escape when the war was ending. One was also from the doctors girlfriend who gets implanted into a middle aged woman, even though she used to be a lovely young woman. The Doctor is implanted into a young handsome man who becomes a celebrity, he does tv interviews etc. One of the scientists starts to wonder if something is wrong and starts to investigate..
I have read this 3 times in paperback and still can't remember the name of it, the last time was about 5 years ago

Fab, thats the chappie! I thought it was something to do with Skin, but could only come up with Under the Skin which takes you to the Book by Michael Faber (film with Scarlett Johansson). Thanks a lot, off to order it now. xx
