😭😭 we can’t keep them we have two very sweet female dogs and if these boys annoy them any more they might shed the sweet title and literally kill the newcomers

message 2153: by luna ♡ (new)

luna ♡ | 144 comments no yall js need to let them acclimate, like keep the puppies in a cage in the same room so they're comfortable together and then move to letting them be supervised together to make sure you're dogs don't get too annoyed or upset until the younger ones grow up a little and chill out. it would be a little inconvenient but... puppies!!!

message 2172: by luna ♡ (new)

luna ♡ | 144 comments no clue, my mom was at work and one of her customers was like "can u help me get this mantis off my car, its been stuck on there for a 30 minute drive" and my mom picked her up and brought her to me since my pet spider thaddeus recently passed and she knows I like bugs

luna ♡ | 144 comments no i j have compassion for underappreciated life

message 2174: by luna ♡ (new)

luna ♡ | 144 comments obviously theres going to be casualties, i still eat meat and stuff I just have an understanding for life, like I found her and she struck me as beautiful and I decided to give her a chance at life because I don't want her to end up as a chocolate bug. so I'm going to learn about her personality as a living thing

message 2175: by luna ♡ (new)

luna ♡ | 144 comments no i wouldnt bc everything has a personality. everything has its own life and its own feelings and its own existence and to not be able to see that is absolutely disgusting.

lol I’ve never had any insect pets, but they seem interesting!! I’m more of a mammal girl- dogs, a hedgehog, I’ve wanted a cat forever. My dad had a snake once.

MarleyTheDragon | 4164 comments Mod
Ooo I’m jealous! I’ve been asking for one since I was like five (I’m sixteen now) and my parents have never caved because my dad doesn’t like cats. Granted, my sister MAY be allergic but that has never been PROVEN lol it was just one cat she had a bad reaction to.

message 2178: by MarleyTheDragon, 2nd in command (new)

MarleyTheDragon | 4164 comments Mod
Yeah see the thing is what happened was she got a bunch of hives for a week, but it was only ever theorized that it was the cat that did it- and she’s never had a problem with petting any other cat so. At this point I think my dad uses it as an excuse not to get one 💀

message 2179: by MarleyTheDragon, 2nd in command (new)

MarleyTheDragon | 4164 comments Mod
lol I mean he’s justified in it, he’s worked in a lot of places that had stray cats (rabies and the likes as well unfortunately) and additionally we live in a place with endangered bird species that visit our feeders- it would be really bad if the cat killed any

that's so mean tho like ivy, my mantis, is so sweet and there's a way to deal with them and know them for what they are as living creatures. like everything has its quirks and its things that should be appreciated

I think in the end my stance on this is that all animals (and plants as well) can feel pain and (most of the time, not always in the plants’ case) have emotion. That doesn’t mean I need to be a vegan—but not does it mean I’m gonna go around like the Indominus Rex killing everything I see for fun.

message 2186: by luna ♡ (new)

luna ♡ | 144 comments yea mantises r docile and shy b actually have big personalities when u give them a chance, they also actually rlly like being handled as long as they know they're safe

yea I j find it useless to be mean to animals for fun and I think you should attempt to understand them

message 2188: by luna ♡ (new)

luna ♡ | 144 comments yea but thats like. because they dont communicate the same as you you see them as inferior. you don't care for them because they arent convenient,

yea but they have their own like, things, ants make entire little cities and worlds where they live, and everything for them is simpler and probably happier like maybe we shouldn't be so complex. and even then you probably don't think that way about people's dogs, just because you don't like or understand something you automatically decide its worse or less than you and your ideation when in all honesty its just another thing. i know that maybe because ivy is a bug that not everyone will like her and that a lot of people will assume shes less than bc she isn't an "intelligent being" but shes still a being. like as my pet she makes me happy and I like her and I bond with her in the way I do and I find parts of her personality in things that she does because I take time to pay attention to her because I do see her as more than a pest. i just think its kinda mean that you're being mean and judgy about it because she's my pet and not yrs and if you don't like it you can smile and nod bc me having her isn't harmful to anyone, I was js sharing something that made me excited

🤣 I’ve read too many dystopians to want that-

message 2191: by luna ♡ (last edited Aug 11, 2024 04:24PM) (new)

luna ♡ | 144 comments i think you dont know how to appreciate things for what they are, if there is a god and if he did make things differently then I think he would want his creations to be loved, even the bugs. before ivy I had a spider, and before the spider I had a inchworm, and every single time I could feel those animals and their presence and their feeling, they are things that are alive the same way we are. we're all just trying to survive. and no you may not have feelings or compassion towards these "lesser beings" the way I do but that doesn't mean I shouldn't,

message 2192: by luna ♡ (new)

luna ♡ | 144 comments i think you're a mean person and you should look deeper into your religion because that's simply not true

Hey, guys, I’m all for some friendly debating but please keep it *friendly*?

Humans are evolved from animals.
Animals still hold worth. They are intelligent and can feel but if a train was about to run over a human and a worm, you’d save the human, right?
It’s not a question that both hold value and you can have your different opinions about this.

Creed, I know that’s probably something you’ve been taught in line with your faith—but I have to say it’s not entirely true. I will not contest your faith, you have a right to that, but I will tell you that animals were not created simply to benefit humanity. God and evolution can coexist—I have many friends who hold to Christianity who also believe in evolution simply because there is very concrete evidence to it being true. Evolution in itself means that animals were not *for* humans—they are simply a benefit to a life we were given.

the concept of evolution does not contest any religion, not if the religion is true. humans can still be humans *and* have evolved from primates in the very, *very* distant past.

I know that probably contests what you've learnt over the course of your life, and im not trying to fight you or scare you off here, but have you considered that perhaps if we're all saying it- and we've all learnt from many varied schools, lessons, books and the like, we might be at least partially correct?
