tara (katesutton) | 21 comments This is a bit of a vague request, because I think if you've read Tam Lin you'll know exactly why it's hard to explain what makes it so good — but I'm looking for similar books: essentially fantasy that feels character driven and immersive.

Other things I love, but aren't super necessary: literary allusion / fairytale or mythological retellings / stories of the Wild Hunt!

Books that make me feel a similar way are The Perilous Gard, Fire and Hemlock and War for the Oaks, if that helps.

tara, are you looking specifically for Tam Lin retellings? What's unique or special about Pamela Dean's version? We need to broaden the description in the header/ topic title.

tara (katesutton) | 21 comments Hi! I’m looking for either Tam Lin retellings or generally character-driven, immersive fantasy. Is that still too vague?

Thanks. I added your description to the header. Are you mostly interested in books for teens or adults?

tara (katesutton) | 21 comments Thank you for editing the header! I don’t have a preference — books for teens or adults would both be great.
