Royce insisted that Hannah be seen by a specific doctor in Manhattan. Did you have any suspicions about his motives at that time?

At that moment, no, I wasn't suspicious, but I did begin to question his motives later.

I did - especially when she told Hannah that she would have to come back to her in something like 4 more weeks to be seen again before she could possibly be released.

I really did not suspect; I thought Hannah had been that damaged. As the story moved along, though, it was apparent that something was off with his insistence. But being in NY State, with access to the rail system, perhaps it was not as far afield as if in a place she would have to drive.

It really raised my suspicions at the time. Going to New York City was terribly inconvenient, especially for someone with a head injury. What did he care who the doctor was? When the woman sidelined her, I knew something was up.
