I forgot to say this will be open until March 31 to allow for more people to post their Blind Dates!
OK I'm feeling really old this week. Is posting for blind dates a new thing? I guess that we're to imagine meeting a character from the book we read? This could be cool. I'll either need a Chinese translator or a virtual reality suit for mine.
I got the idea from a pic that showed blind date with a book:https://www.readerpants.net/2019/01/n...
I think I’m being really dumb - could you explain what we have to do? (Words of one syllable might be necessary, lol!)
I've only seen Blind Date with a Book refer to someone sending you or recommending you a book without telling you what it is. But it sounds like you are talking about a character?
Just to clarify, are you asking us to pick a character from the book we read for the challenge that WE would like to go out on a blind date with? Or are we setting up that character for a blind date with someone else?

It is ok to be a bit silly with this.
Be sure to add spoilers so we can peak and see who it is and what book it is from.
I'll give it a try. If I'm completely off base, I reserve the right to delete and start all over.Looking for a date that will take you out of this world? Smart, handsome, humble, and a true American hero. Clean cut, loves to travel. Truly, a regular Eagle Scout, but willing to be adventurous. If that is the type of date you might enjoy spending time with:

Maybe I can help explain as I have had many blind dates with books from local bookstores, and this is my understanding. BnB will correct me if I am wrong. What a bookstore does is fill a table with identically wrapped books, wrapped to be totally anonymous, except each book has a card taped to the front with a brief vague description so you can decide if it might work for you. I have seen descriptions that list similar books - Date me if you like Agatha Christie, PD James, and Moonflower Murders. I have also seen ones that use mild genre or content descriptions - you will like this if you like books about puzzles, small country towns where everyone knows each other, and house parties. The descriptions are listed as bullett points.
BooknBubbles has given it a cute twist: pick a character from a book you read for Loop 1 and write up a blind date description. For an example, and I don't think anyone will read this for History Walk as it is SciFi, say you read Project Hail Mary and think Rocky would be a great date. You would write up a clever description that hints at the book and who he is - that suggests in he's a character in a sci fi set in space from a far away planet and what would attract someone: I love working with my hands and building things. My ability to learn other languages has helped me make friends in my space travels far from home. I am vulnerable enough to need someone watching when I sleep.

That is the idea.

That is the way!
I'm going out on a limb here --- and also reserve the right to redo if not acceptable:I’m very athletic, loving running and playing ball, but I can also happily relax in a sunny spot in the yard as I’m a real homebody. Love special treats although I am not adept at making them. If you are looking for someone friendly, loyal, and loving, I’m the date for you!

(Group D - Divas) I'm brave and selfless, and I'm always there for my family whatever I'm going through. Despite my lack of formal education, I've saved millions of lives around the world. Some folks have taken advantage of me and my family along the way, but it's the people who care that count. Are you one of them?

I am, or so some have said a gallant man. I love the outdoors but I clean up pretty nicely. My hair is red my eyes are blue. I can be rough and tough with the boys or tender with the ladies. Family is important to me, must be willing to travel. Post me a letter, phone not available.(view spoiler)
I'm a well educated leader of a growing empire. I am young, fit, and have dark curly hair--I could easily grace the cover of a steamy romance novel. Since I spend a lot of time on the road building my empire I'm interested in a good time --ladies, if you want a fun date and some hot casual sex, I'm your man.(view spoiler)
I read the wrong book for this!I am a Baron with a long, mad history. I have a child with my half-sister but am legally separated from my wife so am free to date... just not in England, where I cannot return under penalty of death for sodomy. We can peruse my large collection of locks of women's hair sent by adoring fans, but I may fall into a dark mood as my fame is nothing but a disappointment. Man or woman, just bring some opium.

Group D(ivas)!BIG BEAUTIFUL NUN LOOKING FOR LOVE (women only please)
Tired of the patriarchy and men ruining everything? Well, I run an entire abbey full of women dedicated to God, but that doesn't mean we can't get with each other while on earth! Come on down to my beautiful, ever-expanding estate and I'll sweep you off your feet (or get you on your knees... for the half a dozen prayers we do a day). And don't worry about security – my nuns and I recently installed a full-size labyrinth around the property, guaranteed to keep out rioting peasants, lynch mobs, and those pesky representatives from the diocese who suspect I've gone rogue but never bother to do anything about it. I am whip-smart, hard-working, a bastard sister to royalty and descended from a line of warrior women and an elf queen maybe, so you know I'll be a passionate and dedicated lover.*
*Unless my sister-in-law Eleanor of Aquitaine so much as looks my way, then I'll spend the rest of my life trying to get in her skirts, no lie

I am an adventurous man who loves sea travel and would enjoy having a loving partner to share my life. Science and engineering may be my true loves but I am open to a relationship with a woman who shares my interests. My pet peeve is tardiness so anyone willing to take a risk on me must respond to this missive no later than 9:00 GMT and I DO NOT mean 9:01!(view spoiler)

Well done!!! You didn't even say what he was most famous for. I guessed based on the first sentence and was positive by the end.

Group D(ivas)Love long walks in the garden and cosplaying as a peasant. Cake is my absolute favorite and I think everyone should eat it. I'm married, but that never stopped me from having a good time. I'm a bit of a Diva, but I'll try not to lose my head over things on our first date.

Marie Antoinette
Politically active teenager who looks cute in a red arm band, seeks same. I enjoy making posters and spying on my bourgeois reactionary teachers. My dream date would be to watch a struggle session and make an intellectual traitor confess. Must love Mao. (view spoiler)
Mathematically inclined woman looking for like-minded science enthusiast to share ideas and equal vocations. Needs to appreciate music, perhaps play an instrument to join an impromptu group. Must enjoy hiking (a slight limp does not hold me back) and picnics. (view spoiler)
