I was looking up a recent book, non-fiction, political, on Amazon and right after the book there were other "books" that were a summary of the text. These were paperback or Kindle products, anywhere between 25-45 pages in length and priced at around $3-4 for the Kindle, and up to $10.99 for a paperback. I have to say, I was pretty surprised - I guess it's not exactly unethical, but just seems to be something odd about the process. And with used books coming on the market so fast, you can probably get a used copy of the real book for $10.99.
