      The synopsis did note:
*New, revised edition, with bonus epilogue!*
So getting the epilogue will likely depend on which version you have. I have an anthology with this novella included, and I am assuming it does not have the epilogue.

I haven't read any Alyssa Cole before, so this might be a good introduction. I might start this one soon. Anyone else planning to read this one?

Started and finished this today! It's a quick read. I enjoyed it. Interesting to see the American Revolutionary War through the eyes of slaves.

Kate was a little harder to warm to, but as you learn more you understand her reasons for her beliefs and behaviour.
My kindle edition had the epilogue (mentioned above) and I'm glad it did, as otherwise it may have felt like a pretty sudden ending.
The romance did feel a little rushed, but this is typical of novellas and it was still a decent read. I look forward to reading others' comments.

I started and finished this evening. Was a nice, quick read. Elijah was a compelling hero, definitely. Kate a little harder to like/get, but when you learned of her trauma it was understandable.
Cole’s Loyal League series is worth checking out.

Happy Reading!
Be Not Afraid by Alyssa Cole
Synopsis:
Brooklyn, 1776
Elijah Sutton is no fool, despite his love of a country that enslaves people like him. When he's offered land, livestock, and—most importantly—his freedom if he fights in his Patriot owner's stead, Elijah believes he'll soon have everything he ever wanted...and then he meets Kate.
The Crown has promised freedom to slaves who escape their Patriot masters and join the British side, and Kate intends to take them up on it. She's eager to leave America—and the painful memories it holds for her—far behind...and then she meets Elijah.
Their attraction is undeniable, but their goals couldn’t be further apart. When Elijah is captured by the British while helping Kate, they're thrown into close proximity and forced to choose between their hopes for the future and their hearts.
Be Not Afraid originally appeared in the anthology For Love and Liberty: Untold Love Stories of the American Revolution.
