I am many things, but a supernatural being isn't one of them. At least until a crescent mark appears on my wrist and everything changes. I’ve been marked by a wolf goddess, yet no one knows what that means, myself included.

On top of that, I find out my best friend is a werewolf and her pack alpha is my mate. Just like that my future is supposed to be decided—unless I find a way out.

When fate sends a human mate my way, I’m certain it has to be a mistake. An alpha is supposed to have an equal at his side. Cait might be strong in her own ways, but what she is makes her an easy target in my world.

Regardless, Cait is mine to protect and I have every intention of showing her this is where she belongs—in my pack, by my side.

Cait being reborn and getting a wolf is cool, but it kind of feels like the author changed her mind about the character and is trying to explain why things changed (hide spoiler)]

I don't know why the wolves and vampires have to be enemies. It's clear Sam and the vampire guy have feelings but she knows her pack won't accept them. That's sad :( (hide spoiler)]

Ch 9-16 (view spoiler)[ How strange that Cassie would challenge Cait even though she's his true mate and the bond is completed. I wonder if the pack was threatened into doing it. Either way, it's sad that she had to die instead of backing down.

Kyle's death was too easy and I wanted it to be more of a challenge. I guess now we move onto what's up with the council. (hide spoiler)]

I actually thought it was an interesting thing that the old wolves talked to them. Not amazing, just an interesting concept to make it stand apart a bit from other shifter stories

Right in the beginning, I loved that all the male lines are read by a male narrator and vice versa.

In most audiobooks, the male and female narrators switch off chapters so it can be a bit jarring each transition and chapter when the opposite sex is reading lines from the pov of the other sex. (hide spoiler)]

I guess her reaction to Sam is supposed to show her and us the reader really that she's having stronger feelings for him than she may want to admit. I do like that she finds out about the bond early. Many books with this mating bond trope make you wait a long time or make the character wait a long time.

I also love Vaughn and Embry. And I love the friendship btw Embry and Kate so much (hide spoiler)]

I didn't like that both Vaughn and Embry suddenly found their mates. It felt so unrealistic and like the author was just jamming things in at the end. Maybe if Embry had her own book where she found a mate it would have been better? (hide spoiler)]
