(WPF) Katie and the Cupcake Cure by CoCo Simon 3 stars

Katie Brown is starting middle school. On the first day of school her best friend Callie sits at the "Popular Girls Club" table and Katie isn't invited. Soon Katie befriends three other girls and they form the Cupcake Club because Katie and her mom love to bake cupcakes. This was a fine story but for me, as an adult, nothing exceptional. There really isn't much depth to Katie and her friends. I feel like I know more about the cupcakes they ate than about them. There are plenty of children's books with much more developed characters than these.
