Was making great progress at the beginning of the year - three of the first 8 books I read were TBR. But now I’m 23 books in (which is great for me - I had to up my annual goal), and I have added…zero TBR. My job is on the academic cycle, so optimistic about the summer, but also I probably need to stop reading so many reviews of new books!
Just had a good stretch - the last four books I finished were TBR. Fire in the Hole, I’m telling the truth but I’m lying, how did you get this number, and - after attempting to read it during maternity leave and realizing that, due to the subject matter, emotionally I needed a minute - I finally read the exquisite Beloved (my son is now 4).This brings my 2022 total to 9. I think I might get there.
(I also relieved myself of a few more books I’ve accepted I’ll never read via free little library drop offs.)

I’ve decided to go with that momentum and finally make a dent in my overwhelming TBR stacks and kindle library. First, I went through my hard copy books and took about a dozen books in like-new condition to a free little library, making my peace with the fact that these were books that interested me at a time, but that I will never actually read. It felt like a little weight had been lifted.
Now, onto the climb!
