I’m not sure how I feel about David being killed off in chapter 20… like i’m all for character deaths and sad moments but I don’t really know what it added to the overall plot of the book.
I still love it though.

I definitely agree, i don‘t See why David had to die and I don‘t See what it added to the plot. I also would’ve sped up the romance between Zoya and Nikolai. I understand that they needed some character development, but that could’ve been done before hinting at the romance and having them flirt with each other.

For her gallant sacrifice she could then become the mortal queen.
--- Let's be real she holds way too much power now and will slowly succumb to corruption as time passes. Having an immortal ruler is a recipe for a tyrant.

--- a stag's antlers can naturally fall and grow back
--- the sea creature and dragons have scales that can grow back
--- dragons and allegedly a fire bird (i know i know) have talons that could be cut and regrow
So, in a more ideal and equitable world the magical creatures could bequeath their gifts to several grisha per year. I would have eliminated the requirement to kill the creatures

I would have it where Matthias didn't die, he didn't deserve to die In CK, and even if he did still die in a bit more heroic way maybe like protecting Nina. I actually was crying so hard when he died and he is six out of the group.

THAT SHE WHAT- ISTG IF ANY OF THEM DIES I WILL DIE WITH THEM

I didn’t mind as much when Matthias died because he wasn’t my favorite character to begin with and I honestly prefer Hanne, but I don’t think I could handle it if either Kaz or Inej died

Not something that *poof* happens
And there was no proper explanation for resurrection. When one tries so hard to be scientific and call magic “small science” but then ignores how the body degrades and would not recover from fatal wounds….it’s weird. I’m talking about BOTH Mal and Darkling.
The amount of internal hemorrhaging, blood loss, brain dead for multiple minutes, etc etc would cause irreparable damage to a body… should have just let dead men stay dead.

YES 100%, they were so made for each other
Also (maybe it's just my biased aro/ace opinion, lol) I would love if there was an actually confirmed aro/ace character somewhere, I know some people say Tolya is because he's never shown any romantic/sexual interest in anyone, but hello??? You can survive without romance and relationships, people. :)
And I want more Wesper. I realize that there are multiple major ships and she needs to represent them all equally but Wesper needs some SERIOUS attention.

I would prefer that she rules alone and maybe get's rid of the monarchy (though its far-fetched for ravkan society). Whats more realistic is that she spares the darkling, but acts as his true equal. I mean he basically kept the economy/country together (i dont think the nobles did that much) so he could serve as someone to balance her out. Alina is too naive when it comes to matters of national security so she would likely need someone there to guide her. Something like the fold could be weaponised (like nukes) without killing your own countrymen for example. Nikolai could serve this purpose as well, with Mal serving as her side-piece (historically accurate tbh) while she rules as queen.
I would make Mal die (or go away), like, I hate him sooo much,he's so controlling and possessive... So Alina would be with Aleksander (he would have a redemption arc), because I love Zoya and Nikolai.
Also, David didn't have to die...
Also, David didn't have to die...

Like, Matthias died which is sad (I mentally brawled my eyes out) but, idk it would kinda feel weird to read a book without any of my favs dying.
Btw I’ve only read SoC series so yeah

😭😭 yes, i'm currently reading CK but i spoiled it for myself, i love Matthias, how is Nina gonna get her happy ending...
