Looking for book title

I'm looking for a romance book I read a few years ago. It was about a boy and girl who met each other when they were kids and became friends. They eventually fall in love, but the girl refuses to date the boy out of fear of ruining their friendship. She develops camcer in her leg at some point in her adult life, and the boy helps her through it. She ends up taking a chance with him and they live happily. Let me know if this summary rings a bell!
