On what do you base this statement?

On what do you base this statement?"
I made an educated guess, because you can't find any information about a Kindle edition with this translation and I never saw this edition available on Kindle since the time I have an Amazon's account (2010). Plus, is very rare to a publisher release an old translation on ebook in the same year they advertise "a new edition of Clarice Lispector’s final masterpiece".

I'm afraid the mystery is going to continue. You make a good argument, but we cannot prove that the publisher didn't release this as a Kindle edition. We librarians must err on the side of caution and leave it in the catalog.
If we had a statement from the publisher saying they did not release a Kindle edition in 1992, the mystery would be solved and we could call it the duplicate that it most likely is. 🤷🏻♀️

This translation never had a Kindle edition. As one can check, this entry was added by a librarian in 2017 with no ASIN and since 2011 there was already a Kindle edition published by New Directions with Benjamin Moser's translation.
