Thanks for letting me know :) You're welcome!

Narilka | 5865 comments Ooo! I've been wanting to reread these :) I think I'll join in.

Choko (chokog) | 12607 comments Awesome! The more the merrier:)

Nirkatze | 21736 comments Whoo! Looking forward to it!

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5121 comments Ooh I've been wanting to read the Ilona Andrews duo!

Nyssa | 1657 comments Do we want to plan for a book a month?

Choko (chokog) | 12607 comments Sounds good to me, but we can even do one every Two weeks, since they are kind of short...

Nyssa | 1657 comments That works for me as well.

@ Narilka, Nirkatze, & Emily -

Any preference?

Narilka | 5865 comments I'm good with that. These are easy reads.

Nyssa | 1657 comments Narilka wrote: "I'm good with that. These are easy reads."

Which "that"?

Monthly or every two weeks?

I'll probably end up tagging along for this... isn't there a new serial?... maybe it'll be available on audio and waiting after I do a re-read with you guys...

Narilka | 5865 comments Every two weeks is good.

Narilka | 5865 comments And yes Iain, a new serial is releasing. Which means they'll edit it and do a formal release probably in Q2. Should be good timing :)

Nyssa | 1657 comments So right now, it looks like this thread will be for the whole series. Does anyone know how to update the original post to include the other books and the timeline?

message 16: by Timelord Iain, Tech Support (new) - rated it 5 stars

Timelord Iain | 36506 comments Mod
You can only edit if you make the thread yourself... otherwise you need to request a mod do mod stuff...

Nyssa | 1657 comments Right, I know. But how do I make the request?

Nirkatze | 21736 comments I can probably do every two weeks, though I might be a bit slow for the first couple months. April-May is crunch time at work.

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5121 comments I might be able to squeeze in every two weeks.. they look pretty short. Need to make sure my library has them!

I think for thread edits, you toss a comment in the Master List thread?... I might mention a new thread for this kind of thing, if I can find the best place to make the request...

Nirkatze | 21736 comments Or we could just ask Choko to replace the Message 3 with the schedule. Do we want to say like, the 5nd and the 20th for each book? How many books are there in the series? Is it a closed series, or ongoing?

I contacted Niki, and she created a new thread in caps for getting mod attention with thread edits... so use that:

It's an ongoing series, with an overarching mythos/mystery that's only been lightly touched on so far... it releases over time, as an online serial, and when a story is finished, it's edited and released as a $5 ebook and accompanying regular price audiobook... edits can change the story a bit, but not too drastically, and the authors are willing to be a bit more explicit with the romantic scenes, I think?

It's also branched a bit into a spinoff series, that follows the original MC's sister, but I don't want to go into too many more details until you meet the sister in the main story...

There are currently 4-5 main books, that might include the first spinoff book that only came out a year or 2 ago... not sure if the current book is in the main series or the sister series...

Nirkatze | 21736 comments Wow, that sounds complicated! I didn't realize that Ilona Andrews was doing online serial stuff as well--I thought they were pretty mainstream...

Nyssa | 1657 comments Thank you, TL!

Nyssa | 1657 comments Ugh! I really dislike the fact that we cannot edit our posts in the app!
I also wanted to say that the fifth and the 20th sounds great to me.

Narilka | 5865 comments The current book they're releasing is in the main series with Dina. I read a couple of the earliest posts and stopped. I prefer to wait for the edited versions. Like Iain said, they do some clean up and minor additions to the final version.

One of the author Q&A posts mentioned this isn't the final book but we're getting close.

Narilka | 5865 comments Sweep of the Heart has a book page finally!

The online serial started as a breather from the later Kate Daniels books and the early Hidden Legacy books, I think... the worldbuilding is similar to their other books, but with a sci-fi bent... and it actually connects diagonally with the Edge series of PNR they did forever ago...

Fans love it as much as everything else they write, tho... they tried doing a poll a few months ago, to decide what to write next, and it was basically a 5 way tie between the 2 Innkeeper Chronicles sisters, the next Aurelia Ryder book, the next Hidden Legacy book, and the next Hugh D'Ambry book... with some leftover votes for their recently resurrected Kin series, and something else, I think...

That's good to know/hear... they've done some heavy seeding of the final mystery, and, I assume, once it starts being revealed / falling together, things are going to escalate quickly... whatever is going on, it's gonna be pretty world-changing, I'd think (for the Innkeepers)... big secrets, big powers... and look what's happened already, in the series :D (I think that was vague enough to avoid spoiler tags)

Nirkatze | 21736 comments Sounds exciting!

And I swear someone recommended this series when I complained about the Wandering Inn not wandering enough. Will be fun to have two series with magical innkeepers in them going. :)

message 32: by Timelord Iain, Tech Support (new) - rated it 5 stars

Timelord Iain | 36506 comments Mod
The magical inns here are really cool... and Dina manages to stretch the magic in unusual ways that are generally considered impossible... and that's before some of the crazier things happen in the series...

One aspect of the inn's magic is best compared to the (view spoiler) that Erin got at the end of Flowers of Esthelm... on a much larger scale...

Nyssa | 1657 comments Sweep with Me (Innkeeper Chronicles, #4.5) by Ilona Andrews
Are we including Sweep with Me on our official buddy read list?

I plan to ask Niki to update our thread with the schedule of the 5th and 20th.

Narilka | 5865 comments Why not? Let's be thorough :)

Nyssa | 1657 comments Excellent! :)

Nirkatze | 21736 comments Another vote for thoroughness!

Nyssa | 1657 comments Niki was kind enough to adjust the thread so that I could update the reading schedule in Post #1.

Let me know if any adjustments need to be made.

Caroline (mondfuechslein) | 134 comments Haven't read the series before, but I started reading the Kate Daniels Series of Ilona Andrews in January (and savoring each book, because I enjoy them that much - I originally searched and found that series to help me over the year when eagerly awaiting the next book of Patricia Briggs).

So I started this book early.

Chapter 1 (view spoiler)
Chapter 2 (view spoiler)
Chapter 3 (view spoiler)

I had to stop myself from continuing, it was catchier than I thought it would be.

Choko (chokog) | 12607 comments It's a great series! But I am biased, because I tend to love anything written by IA:)))

Nirkatze | 21736 comments These'll be my first IA books. :) Not going to start until next week though. Enjoy your earlybirding!

Choko (chokog) | 12607 comments Nirkatze, you are in for a pleasant surprise:)

message 42: by Eva (new)

Eva | 79 comments I really like it too! Have only read the first three books, though.

Thanks! I agree with Choko! I'll try to slow down, though, haha

Choko wrote: "It's a great series! But I am biased, because I tend to love anything written by IA:)))"

There's a discussion going on in another group, at the moment, about how most members seem to love everything by IA... except the 2nd Hidden Legacy trilogy, that just hasn't quite lived up to the first trilogy and had the IA magic...

Someone thought it was maybe because it's the only thing they're contractually obligated to write, anymore...

Innkeeper Chronicles is people's favorite, if you add together the Dina & Maud votes for what they should write next, in their poll a few months ago... shame someone said there's only 1 Dina book left to write... I could read Dina books forever...

Nyssa | 1657 comments I plan to start this weekend, hopefully Friday after work.
I am so behind in my reading as March has been a wash.
I’m trying to finish up a move and it has taken much longer than I thought it would, so focusing on my reading has been challenging.
I do read a little every day but it’s only a few pages.

Eva | 79 comments "Are you joining the buddy read? :)"

I'll follow the discussion but have too much new stuff to read to do any re-reading. But I'll join for book 4 if/when you read it!

Nirkatze | 21736 comments @Nyssa--I hope the remainder of your move goes smoothly!

@Eva--it's always nice to have veteran readers join in! I definitely want to read the whole series.

I'm excited to start this weekend! Going to read right after ripping through Skysworn.
