Debbie McGowan (debbiemcgowan) | 5 comments Hi there,

I'd be grateful for any advice other librarians can offer. I'm aware of the rules and exceptions regarding replacing book covers, and I've searched the group topics, but I can't locate any relevant guidance.

The book this query relates to is one of which I am both the author and publisher (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...). I set it up on Goodreads in 2017 with a view to releasing it in 2018. For various reasons, the book didn't get written, and in the interceding five years, I decided not to release the book with the originally intended title/cover, which only exists on my author/series websites and blog at this point.

As some readers have already added the book to their TBR shelf, ideally, I'd like to amend the title and add a placeholder cover while I finish writing the book. Am I allowed to do this?

I can make all the changes myself, but I don't want to do anything before I know it's acceptable under GR policy.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Debbie McGowan (debbiemcgowan) | 5 comments No. I didn't even finish writing it.

OK, I just realized you already said that, sorry. I have removed the covers from the books so you can upload new ones. You can also update the title and any other info.
When you are ready to reveal your new cover you can post again and we can replace it for you.
