Vi’s mother is awful. She is always treating her like less of a person because she doesn’t have magic. When she told her sisters and her mother about her date with Lincoln her mother’s reaction was heartbreaking.

I am glad that Lincoln told off those snooty shifters that were friends of his father’s. I also liked the way that Vi talked to them and stood up for herself. (hide spoiler)]

It seems like Vi’s magic only acts up when Linc is near.

Lincoln is super jealous. I also liked that Bax got his best friend thing on and threatened Linc. But I like that Linc threatened him right back.

And her grandmother’s magic called to hers and made her the Prima. It was touching that she went to one of the important shifters and got her on Linc’s side so he wouldn’t have to mate a stranger of their choosing. And bonus, all those crotchedy shifter members were disbanded. It was nice that he would have chosen to step down before all that happened so that he wouldn’t have to mate anyone but Vi. And the two of them are mates! They finally figured it out. =P Even if her grandmother had to help them. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5 – 10 : (view spoiler)[Their banter is EVERYTHING! I love fake date tropes and this one is doing it justice. It has just the right amount of angst and longing that I am able to enjoy it. I want Linc and Vi to mate for real soon! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 11 – 16 : (view spoiler)[The first kiss was soooo good! I am glad that their relationship is progressing organically but I got confused when it came to Vi admitting she sneaked into the Blood match, I don’t know what it is all about (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 17 – 22 : (view spoiler)[Oh no, not the usual misunderstanding trope, why do these people always only convey half the conversation to the other partner. I can’t imagine how hurt Violet must be feeling atm, this was the second time (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[Gran rocks! I am so glad that Linc’s dad is dead lol, I also liked that the author didn’t unnecessarily stretch the misunderstanding and everything was resolved pretty soon. Rose’s character was a strong one in this book and with her potential romantic partner introduced in the epilogue, I need to pick up the next book soon enough (hide spoiler)]

I love the banter between Violet and Linc so far. She has every right to hate him for what he did to her even if he did it to save her life (which I don't think she knows).

I'm interested to learn more about Violet's magic. I wonder why it took until she was 32 to show up?

I love that Violet inadvertently knocked Lincoln out with her magic. I'm excited to see more of her learning about her magic.

The fake dating is great in this book and I love the banter between these two. Violet has very real reasons to not trust Linc and I'm looking forward to seeing him make up for that.

Finally these two are starting to move things in the right direction. I really want Linc to open up about what happened when they were teenagers so Violet can actually trust him again.

And damn, Violet's magic is serious business. The way she just got rid of that fire was crazy.

That council scene was great, Violet is incredibly powerful and I liked that she also helped get the law abolished for any witches after her.

Cutting it close on making up, but I loved that final scene between Violet and Linc. With the misunderstandings out of the way, these two are great together and I hope we see some more of them in future books in the series.

I really enjoyed this one and I can't wait for the next book to come out.
