I have a gorgeous cloth-bound tome of all of the Sherlock Holmes stories by the Folio society (I think - it's green with a golden magnifying glass on it, anyway). This in itself would make quite a generous gift.
Please note that some of the Sherlock Holmes stories are available as free downloads from ProjectGutenberg!
And, of course, some battered old vintage editions would have a nostalgic charm (but do the math - sometimes several used books would cost more with shipping than a new gift edition! Disappointing but true).
Gifts: A Storiarts scarf (Etsy) with text from The Hound of the Baskervilles A lovely, proper magnifying glass A vintage bowl pipe A deer-stalker tweed hat (At time of writing, 25/11/21, there is a lovely teal Baker Street sweater at Joanie's online)
There are just so many options here! I personally love the Jeremy Brett series and would like the DVD set, too!
