For the next couple of months at least I'll be focusing on the "best mystery/crime/thriller" lists. This time around, please nominate a book from the list of the Mystery Writers of America Top 100 Mystery Books of All Time. You'll find it here:

I'll nominate James M. Cain's The Postman Always Rings Twice. According to the group shelf, it's been five years so let's do it again.

CBRetriever | 2552 comments I'll nominate Crocodile on the Sandbank because it's funny, has a strong female protagonist and is set in Egypt

that whole series is fun, although I will admit that for me after Ramses grew up, it wasn't quite the same.

Diane wrote: "Anything by Dorothy Sayers gets my vote. Love the characters and the time period she wrote in."

I think there are like five Sayers novels on the list ... want to narrow it down?

thanks!

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) I really enjoyed Beast in View but didn't we read that like 2 or 3 years ago?

When it was nominated, I went through the group bookshelf which keeps a record of all group reads, and didn't find it. I checked again just now and didn't find it either. Must have been a different group, RJ.

I loved this series, and actually cried when I read the last one, knowing there was to be no more. I actually dragged out reading the last couple so they wouldn't be over. I'd be happy to re-read this one.

That's on me. I'm very sorry ... I just spaced on changing it. Right now I'm on a cruise ship in the Caribbean and my only internet access is through my phone, not conducive to correcting my error. I'll be home Sunday and will take care of everything then.

Jeri (jerireads) | 9 comments Oh no need to apologize, I just was in a pedantic accountant mode (taxes and all) and noticed March was missing. Hope you are/had a fabulous time cruising, it has been quite a long slog through the past few years hasn't it, we head to MX in a few weeks and i can't wait.
