I have a dear friend who works in a Genesis House type facility in San Diego. For women who have been saved from sexual slavery it is a Godsend and gives them a path to a normal life.I started this book before I left for my Hawaii trip and had to put it aside. It was just too heavy emotionally and I wanted a happy book for a happy time. I'm glad I got back to it; it was a great book.
I loved the story. It is one of my favorites. I like Sean and Lucy working together with the rest of RCK.Anita, that must be a tough job your friend has. Sometimes the women who get out can't more forward with a "normal" life.
I totally understand why you needed a happy book for your trip.
LOL. This would not be a book that I would pick if I'm sitting on a beach in Hawaii. I would have put it down too, Anita.I like when RCK works with the FBI. We get to see many characters from the past books, which is fun. I liked Bella, but I didn't love her, mostly because of her decisions not to get out while she could. I'm hoping we'll see her again and I'll like her more.
I hope to see Bella again too. Hopefully she will get her head on straight although I'm sure that she will always feel for the abused girls.
I liked everything about this story and was just as hooked by what was going on between Lucy and Rachel as I was with Bella’s story. It was also pretty special to see Sean come into his own.
I’d love to see more of Bella, too, hopefully with Patrick in DC😏

Lucy and Rachel were my favorite part of the story, Jonetta. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.
Yes I did. Rachel started out being understandably curious about what had been redacted from Lucy's file and distrustful of Lucy after finding out she lied about San Diego. She assigned her the busy work to see how Lucy would react. When Lucy finished the work with no problems, she began digging. I can see her checking Lucy's work to make sure she isn't cutting corners, but Rachel seemed to be actually looking for something to use against Lucy. Putting the tracker on a personal vehicle just blew my mind.
