Amanda- LateNightReader | 31 comments Review: Glory in Death (book #2 In Death Series) J.D Robb
Finished Reading: 3/20/2022 4.5 stars Swoon-Worthy

Every time I think I have the whole book figured out, JD throws out a plot twist and blows my mind completely. That is the genius of a great mystery/suspense/ thriller novel. Another thing I absolutely LOVE about these books is that they are futuristic yet they were published in 95 '. And the book takes place around 2050. So its like we are almost at the half way there point. And a lot of things that JR imagined for our future has already happened in some ways. Its hard to explain. But it just made things even more interesting. I also really enjoyed learning about the characters. Roark is a very interesting man and I am dying to know what his deal is. I know there's got to be something else going on with him from what we know so far, and I cant figure it out. Its impressing . I can't wait to see what happens in book 3. Its crazy to think that J.R has written over 50 book in this series alone. She also has a ton of books as Nora Roberts. She must have been a very busy lady in the last 30 years! Its crazy to imagine. I hope to make it through all 50 books one day. (far off into the future most likely). But I am definitely a big fan. Also, the narrator did a superb job in both the first and second novels. She definitely brings a lot to Eve's character and the whole book. I cant wait for the next few!

Amanda- LateNightReader | 31 comments Hey guys... I think we are missing the Shifter stamp too. Is there any reason for that ( was it me? It was probably me lol). But that could be an important stamp and I'm pretty sure that all 3 of us has done that one too.

And awesome guys! You guys are awesome and totally amazing~!

Ooh good catch! That was totally on me, I had linked something incorrectly in the stamp request and hadn't noticed. It's fixed and I've re-requested the stamp. Thanks for pointing that out Amanda!

Amanda- LateNightReader | 31 comments Awesome. Thanx for being a great captain! It is very appreciated.

Tori Story (toristorytime) | 203 comments Review: Barbarian's Choice by Ruby Dixon
Shelf: Swoon-Worthy
Read: 3/21/22
Rating: 3/5 Stars

This one was pretty good, but definitely not my favorite of the series. Farli was a fun protag, especially since we've seen her grow up throughout the series, though I didn't love how she felt a little naive in her narration. Mardok was a very swoon worthy love interest though. I appreciated him working through his trauma throughout the story, and the choices he made.

Swoon Worthy

READ: My Soul to Save (Soul Screamers, #2) by Rachel Vincent by Rachel Vincent, finished 0330, 4 stars

REVIEW:
Loving this series and the characters. Kaylee is learning more about her heritage and abilities and getting into more trouble. Her chemistry with Nash is heating up. She irritated me with how much she kept putting herself and Nash in dangerous situations. More action, suspense and drama. Can't wait to see what she gets into in the next book.

Tori Story (toristorytime) | 203 comments Review: Fire in His Blood by Ruby Dixon
Shelf: Kindle Freebie
Read: 3/30/22
Rating: 1/5

Oof, y'all this was not it. I've been loving the author's other series, and the premise of this one seemed pretty good, but this was bleugh. There were some serious consent issues I couldn't get past, and fatphobia and slut-shaming that I took me out of the story pretty fast. Also, I just didn't think the writing was as good in this one. I think I'm going to stick to the Barbarians series.

Amanda- LateNightReader | 31 comments Review: Kindle Freebie- The Raven Spell by Luanne G. Smith finished on 3/29/2022 5/5 Stars*

I actually really liked this book a lot. Luanne has such a beautiful writing style. It just kind of flowed. When you pair that with a narrator who does so much more than just someone reading the book... It all worked out beautifully. I loved how the narrator seemed to be so into this book. It definitely left me dying to know what happens next. Book two wasn't out yet, last time I checked. But as soon as its out, I plan on scooping it up, ASAP!

Team 4 won! But I'm pretty sure they collect stats for finished shelves, so if you've got time it'd be good to still post your review for the called shelves =)
