Let's talk about Part One here! How are you liking the characters? Are there any themes sticking out to you?

Mike | 56 comments I love the feminism/women's rights parallels with witchcraft here.

To be honest, I've been struggling to keep the characters straight in my head. Maybe it is because each of the sisters has around three different names that are used, but I'm constantly asking myself things like "Was she the one that worked at the factory"..."Is this the one with the cane"..."Is she the one that works at the library". For some reason, I'm finding them very confusing.

Really enjoying this so far.

Honestly, I’m not sure I’m really into this 😬 I’m struggling keeping track of the characters and I’m kind of bored by the story. I’ll probably give it another chapter or two, but I think I might be DNFing this one ☹️

Elizabeth Tavares | 1 comments Vicky, try the audiobook. I'm listening to it now and I find that the narration adds to the story.

I’m going to listen on audio as well. I’m going to pick it up here in a few days.

Cheryl This is my first book group on Goodreads and my first post. I was drawn to the group by the title 'Random Reads' -thought that was pretty neat :) Here goes:

I had struggled for many pages in myself with the story, characters, sisters and their family situation. I also seem to struggle visualizing the place, the characters themselves, most especially Juniper. The mannerisms and descriptions of her make her seem so much older to me, however, she is young and the youngest sister. Hmmmm

Towards the end of part one I seem to finally get immersed into the story. I just started part two today and will see how things progress.
