Wow whats your favorite Allan Poe story so far?
About recommendations I would suggest Smoke gets in your eyes, is a non fiction book about a girl who used to work in a crematory

I’m going to buckle down on one book before moving on to another which is my goal for 2023!
My current read is A Farewell To Arms by Ernest Hemingway which is a book I checked out from the library. Thus, creating a deadline for me to focus on just that one book before returning it.
I also saw that someone last year was reading Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace which I am currently 20% in. I’ve been reading this novel since summer of 2022!
Does anyone else have many currently readings? If so, I’d love to hear about it!❤️📕

I been wanting to start war and peace for a long time but no gonna lie, It kind of scared me, It's just soooo long
But how is it so far?

I also just finished a book called Akata Witch (apparently it's a series and I NEED the second one) it's a very original and cool book I loved it!

Cool! What's it about? I'm glad you enjoyed it:))
I would continue the series- there are so many series that I haven't finished yet! They really build up😆

It was unique. Beautiful. Sad. And a solid 4/5 <3"
IKR. I read it a while ago and wasn't able to pick up any other book for a while. It's a great read. So happy to find someone else who have read it as well :)

it's a crime thriller series based on a woman who works as a crisis negotiator, but there's a lot of exciting storylines that are kind of intertwined into one. i'm actually a huge fan and i would recommend it to all crime lovers!
i did end up starting the second book in the series just because i know that if i don't finish the series one after the other, i'll never pick it up again lol. i'm in the same boat as you and i'd like to avoid having to restart series over and over again!!

That's been on my to-read for a while- hope to read it someday!

So I'm debating which book to read next. Should I read
Finale (Caraval #3)
Glass Sword (Red Queen #2)
The Wicked King (Cruel Prince #2)
Exile (Keeper of the Lost Cities #2)
The Horse and His Boy (Chronicles of Narnia #2)
or Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #2)?
I haven't finished all of these series😂

I’m currently reading Better Than the Movies and I’m also going to start listening to the audio book The Bones Will Speak. Last year I read the first book in the series by Carrie Stuart Parks and I didn’t love the book but I do want to finish the series so maybe I’ll like the second book more by listening to it instead of reading it 🤷🏻♀️
Awesome! What are they about? I'm not sure I've heard of either of those.
Haha, I have a lot of half-finished series as well! XD
Yeah, I find that listening to books that I don't enjoy as much makes it much easier to get through them. I hope you enjoy The Bones Will Speak!

I’ve already finished Better than the Movies and I really loved that book! It’s a ya novel that has the enemies to lovers, the fake dating tropes and the boy next door tropes, it’s a lot of fun because the main girl is obsessed with romcom movies and dreams of her perfect guy but doesn’t realize the boy next door might just be him.
Yeah it’s been easier to listen to The Bones Will Speak and so far it’s been good. This book is a Christian fiction novel about a woman who is a forensic expert and she gets dragged into danger because of her work so it’s filled with crime, suspense, mystery and thriller.

Oo enemies to lovers is one of my favorite love tropes:) Haha, that's awesome! I love it when people realize that what they're looking for is just one door away.
Oh, that's so cool! How far through are you now? I haven't really read any crime/thriller, so I'll have to check it out.

I’m liking it a lot so far! Obviously I’ve heard of the books before and years ago I watched the first movie so I do remember some of it but not all and I also don’t know how accurate the movies are to the books 🤷🏻♀️

Personally I think the books do a better job explaining but if this is your first time I would highly recommend you read all the books first and then watch the movies. I know the movies show some scenes that aren’t in the book at all.
