Just finished Under the Greenwood Tree. I started reading the physical book, but I kept looking up words to gain context and that took away from me just reading the novel. I found an audio version read by Simon Vance and I found it easier to understand when I listened to it. It's also been an extremely busy time in my life (weddings, new puppy, classes, home improvement projects) so I think if i had the full focus I could have enjoyed this book better. I loved Far From the Madding Crowd so I thought this one fell a bit short compared to that.
Nice Morgan! When I read this, it was my first and only Thomas Hardy. I looked back at my comments and Remember Liking his prose and the story telling reminded me of the times and I felt he did a good job of helping me immerse myself in that era. I will now put Far From the Maddening Crowd on my TBR for my next Hardy in the future .
