Thank you so much for the awesome picks. I had a moment of worry there for a minute because my library didn't have a copy of Unicorn, but thankfully they had it as a different title, so now I'm a little extra excited to read it. If that makes sense (cuz it doesn't to me). ^_^

For your two picks, I went with Past Perfect by Leila Sales and Skeleton Man by Joseph Bruchac . As for your bonus, my favorite book is Good Omens The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett , which I firmly believe everybody should read, because Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett are seriously the best. ^_^

Michelle | 1602 comments Completion Post - Book 1

Midnight Alley (The Morganville Vampires, #3) by Rachel Caine

Book - Midnight Alley
Author - Rachel Caine
Date Read - 2/15/22
Rating - 2 Stars
Review - This was book 3 in The Morganville Vampires Book Series and it was not my favorite. In fact it was a bit of a dud and disappointing to say the least. I love Rachel Caine's work, but this series is turning into "whose the biggest idiot character". The MC, claire is 17 and some kind of genius, but that's about as far as her smarts go. She has book smarts, but the common sense of an astray. You would think after 3 books she would start thinking about her actions before doing them, but that's not the case. She still claims she doesn't need any help, but usually in the end she does. I love flawed characters, but if I don't see a little growth going on, I get bored because it turns into the same old situations regardless of how the scene is written.

message 79: by Barb (new)

Barb Finished all three of the books chosen for me, although I finished the first one a few days early (oops!) I liked all of them, so thanks, Theo!

The Silent Sisters (Charles Jenkins, #3) by Robert Dugoni Go See the Principal True Tales from the School Trenches by Gerry Brooks Never Steal a Cockatiel by Edie Claire

The Silent Sisters (Charles Jenkins #3), by Robert Dugoni, finished 1/29 ★★★★
An excellent end to the trilogy, although this is one series that you *must read in order. Too many things happen in the first two books that you need to know before reading this one.

Go See the Principal: True Tales from the School Trenches, by Gerry Brooks, finished 2/11 ★★★.5
An interesting look at the teacher/staff side of education, but I was disappointed that the book was as funny as the GR blurb led me to believe. Maybe his YouTube videos are funnier than the printed word?

Never Steal a Cockatiel (Leigh Koslow #9), by Edie Claire, finished 2/19 ★★★★
Listened to this one while I was unable to read due to cataract surgery, and enjoyed going back to Pittsburgh and following Leigh, Cara and the rest in their latest adventure -- trying to put an end to a petnapping ring!

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) | 1919 comments Finished both my picks for this month and I enjoyed both of them.

message 81: by Marty (last edited Feb 28, 2022 05:48PM) (new)

Connie N. | 685 comments I'm a little late, but I was able to finish two of my three books picked for February. Thanks, Dora, for the great picks! I enjoyed them both.

Dora picked for me: Rock All Night (The Rock Star's Seduction, #2) by Olivia Thorne The Bride Who Got Lucky (The Cavensham Heiresses #2) by Janna MacGregor BONUS: The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald
Rock All Night by Olivia Thorne - 2/15/22 ♥♥♥♥
