I have read the vast majority of books since I joined this group back in 2015, but there are still a bunch that missed during the months when we had new babies in the house :-) and I think I have only read about half of the selections prior to 2015.

There is pretty much a zero percent chance I will read all of these in 2022. If I happen to do it, even though I am ineligible for the prizes, I will go ahead and buy myself a book as well. :-)

Yeah! Let’s all buy some books to ourselves :) thank you for the opportunity (and great choice, I’ve been wanted to reread the Narnia’s Chronicles for YEARS now, I might catch up on this one too!).

I just finished my second book (In Cold Blood), but it will most likely take me the full two months to get through The Shining, so I probably won't try to read a third until April.

I finished my third Book, Oliver Twist. Not sure what I am going to start next - I have most of the outstanding ones sitting on my bookshelves...

I have some of mine as physical books and some as audiobooks. Sometimes I listen to the audiobook and read the physical book too so I can get a better understanding and a good listening experience if I don't have the time to sit and read. I'm doing this right now with Under the Greenwood Tree.

I generally prefer printed books; I spend too much time everyday reading from a computer screen that it it nice to get away. I have only listened to one audio book once and I found my mind wanders too much and I realize I hadn't been listening for the past 10 minutes...lol

I have that same problem with audiobooks. It takes a special narrator to keep my full focus. I also prefer physical books because there is something more magical about them.

I finished Frankenstein; wow, this was really different than I expected. I had no idea this was an epistolary novel. The monster is so much different than the modern Frankenstein monster (i.e slow green guy with electrodes on his neck)

I finished Wuthering Heights. That was not what I expected. It was much darker than I thought is would be; I just assumed Wuther Heights would be a magical place where the protagonist would have their unrequited love eventually reciprocated. Lol - I was way off.

On to East of Eden next..

Yes, it was a pleasant Suprise for me. I just enjoyed the story as it was written and since I had no prior knowledge of the story other than what I assumed of it I guess that Suprise made it even better for me. East of Eden has its own dark side so enjoy. LOL
