Maddie K. | 3 comments Hello, everyone! Here is the follow-up to yesterday's summary of Part III.

Discussion Questions:
What are some steps that can be taken to reduce the shame and stigma associated with drug addiction? Do you know of any local or state-level actions being taken to reduce the barriers addicts and others face to accessing rehabilitation?

The article below discusses the works of a Maryland congressman to provide those affected by the opiate epidemic with the necessary resources to overcome addiction and its consequences.

Extra Resource:
This article from the Washington Post discusses the effects the opiate epidemic has had on congressman David Trone (D-Md.). Driven by personal loss, Rep. Trone is at the center of bipartisan efforts in Congress to make a major investment in putting a dent in the opiate epidemic, and the nation’s dual addiction and mental health crises.

Take a read and let us know what you think!
