Henriette | 102 comments Hello, I am Henriette from Germany and I love me a regular dose of lesbian fiction. I collected dragons and unicorns last year and look forward to participating in the IHL-challenge.

Anyone doing the Sapphic book bingo and the IHL-challenge?

message 3: by Nelle (new)

Nelle (isabeaublue) | 46 comments Hi, I'm Nelle from Maryland in the US. I read lesfic and science fiction/fantasy. I haven't done the IHL challenge before since I refuse to facebook lol, but saw other options this year and decided to jump in.

I'm doing Jae's book bingo, too - got dragon level 1 last year.

Cassandra Medcalf | 3 comments Hi all! I'm Cass from upstate NY and I just wrote a lesfic book :) I really like YA fantasy and contemporary fiction mostly, and since coming out I've really been enjoying reading more books featuring bi and lesbian characters :)

What's the bingo??

Nelle (isabeaublue) | 46 comments Hi Cass! Congrats on your book! You can visit Jae's blog to see all the details for the book bingo and download the two bingo cards - https://jae-fiction.com/sapphic-book-....

Lyn Denison (lyndenisonauthor) | 10 comments Hi from Lyn in Australia. I've been writing romance for 40, yes 40, years. Read most types of lesfic although I need recommendations for some categories. Haven't taken part in a challenge before.

Hi Lyn (Denison), I also have read your books back when and really loved them. Please don't be shy and add them to the appropriate categories. That helps us readers a lot!
Thanks!

It's a fun challenge to participate here and the Bingo - keeps you on your "reading-toes".

Could you be so kind to tell us, which books fit into which categories ::)) the neat trick when you have filled about 35 categories is to plan ahead for the rest ... that's where a list of books fitting in each category comes in handy.

Henriette | 102 comments As a "veteran" of last years Sapphic reading challenge, here a tip for all who want to go for Emerald (all 50 categories).
I started merrily reading and filling the categories. This went well until roundabout 35 filled-in categories and then the true reading challenge started. Because as most readers I had my fav books, tropes, topics and books I rather avoided or didn't tend to gravitate to.
So to get all 50 categories filled I then actively planned which books to read for the 10-15 categories which were not so easy for me. Turned out (mostly) to be very rewarding because it really stretched my usual reading towards genres, topics etc. I don't usually read.

Mun Leigh (munleigh) | 1 comments Hello everyone!

Last year was not my best year doing a reading challenge as I deviated from my list to read but I'm hoping this year will be different. So far I am on track, however it is only January. Haha.

I'm doing both the IHL-challenge, the Sapphic Bingo Challenge as well as one other one.

Kara (strangemercy) | 2 comments Hi, all! I'm Kara and just dropping a line to kind of introduce myself and maybe snag a few new Goodreads friends since I'd love a few who also read lesbian fiction (because who doesn't love using their GR friends to get ideas for what to read next)? Good luck with all your challenges, everyone. It's my first time participating (and this is actually my first time joining and participating in a community) so hopefully I catch on quickly enough.

Kara (strangemercy) | 2 comments I've been hunting for a lesbian gothic novel (think Rebecca, Jane Eyre or Crimson Peak) for ages. Does anyone know if such a thing exists? I found a list of m/m ones but no such luck otherwise.

Amber | 9 comments Hi, I'm Amber from Virginia, US. I am new to the challenge and was wondering, does one 'have' to read a book on the list, or can one read another lesfic that fits that trope? I have been merrily reading away before I realized that might be the case. Can someone please clarify? I love to read regardless and hoped there was some flexibility when reading. Thanks so much.

You can read any WLW book that fits in a category - the list gives only suggestions if you don't know what to read for a category.
And you can post good fits for a category here as well.

Bet Milner (goodreadscombetmilner) | 2 comments Hi, I'm Bet. I love reading lesfic and writing it. I am still trying to work out the bingo and would like to do both challenges this year as I read extensively, but forgot to fill out the card last year! Oops! I'm British and live in Brazil. I especially love wlw stories with lots of humor so please feel free to make any suggestions!

I always have a good love by Colette Moody's books, Clare Lydon is another writer which has me laugh on a regular basis.
