What would you like to read in February?
Take a look at our bookshelf or at our "Authors-vs-Birthdays" spreadsheet.

MaryAnn (EmilyD1037) I would like to nominate:
Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress

Hi, @MaryAnn, and thank you for your message!
I cannot find the book you're mentioning in the group bookshelf: is it mentioned in James' List?

I'd like to read:
Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath or Pasternak's Doctor Zhivago , both February-born authors.

Carlton | 93 comments I would second Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, which I keep meaning to read (it is staring at me from my shelves as I write!). I have really enjoyed Steinbeck’s shorter fiction, although I wasn’t as impressed by his journalism in Once There Was a War.

@Carlton,
I know that feeling when a book stares at you... (ehm, Monsieur Proust, don't hurt me, s'il vous plaît!)

I must have had a senior moment, as I don't see it in the book or the list, sorry about that.

Thank you, @Chuck!
@MaryAnn, we all have those types of moments! 😆 You can nominate something else, if you like.

Thank you, @Javonne.
Let's see if someone else pops in. In a few days I'll create a poll in order to vote the book we're reading next.

message 12: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly | 62 comments I also second The Grapes of Wrath.

Thank you, @Kimberly.

I'm closing this thread. You can vote of the three suggested titles in the poll I've just created. Thank you for your participation!
