Beth-In-UK | 1195 comments Maybe one of the benefits of dramas such as Sanditon is to make us realise just how brilliant Austen is in comparison??

Ditto, Bridgerton shows us how brilliant Georgette Heyer is in comparison!!

Shana Jefferis-Zimmerman | 205 comments I don’t think Robert was nice. He admitted to someone during the book that he outright told his mother that it was her fault Edward was causing so much trouble because of where she had sent him to school. And he piled on with his mother as far as Edward being disinherited, if memory serves. I think Mrs. Ferrars kept her children in line by trying to play them off one another. Of course this never could work with Edward.

Beth-In-UK | 1195 comments OK, so maybe just not quite as nasty as Fanny and her ghastly mum! But I suspect Lucy will 'manage' Robert to her own advantage....!

Jan Z (jrgreads) | 271 comments I think Lucy will do quite well at taking care of herself. I hope she has a care for Nancy. She needs it. (Assuming they exist beyond the novel. Which we all hope they do. After all. they are our friends.)
