Leanne felt as if her eyes were going to pop out of her head as she walked into the lab. It was like walking into an inventor's dream world, with tools, gadgets, and experiments everywhere. "This is... awesome." She breathed.

"So... how does this all work exactly? It just stops your powers?" Leanne asked, looking slightly uncomfortable, and whispering so the others in the lab wouldn't hear. She didn't know why she was whispering; it just kind of felt like a quiet place. (Sorry for the late response, I was taking a sort of fast from things for Holy Week)

"It um...stops them from going out of control" she said as she smiled at her and put the pen back where it was before.
Leanne nodded slowly. "I see how that could be helpful. But does that mean there isn't a chance you can control it on your own?"

{You're good!} "Yeah, alright. Sorry about all of the questions. I guess the whole 'they're using you' thing freaked me out. I don't think I've talked this much in months."

Leanne smiled sadly. "I know. I would too. Sometimes people just don't understand what it's like to hold so much power, like we do. It's not as if it was a choice."

Leanne tugged on her hair, uncomfortably. "Both, I guess. I mean, it does... well, it is hard. And strange."

"I don't think it was because you were nothing. Maybe more like you were too much to handle?"

Leanne sighed. "Yeah, it sucks. Yeah, it's really stupid. I guess we'll just have to prove them right, and be the next best superheroes. Of course, while also trying not to become super villains because of the addictiveness and destruction our powers give us." Leanne gave a humorless smile. "Yay?"

Gen looks at her, "Hmm...maybe or maybe we might become the super villains, would it be so bad?" she says to her as she was not thinking straight.
Leanna gasped softly. "That was a joke, right? I don't even want to think about what a super villain could do with my powers."

"Sometimes..." Leanne reluctantly agreed. "But I wouldn't be able to agree in regards to people like Thanos, or Venom."

"I suppose. So, it wasn't a joke then? You've considered being a villain?" Leanne asked. hugging one of her arms to her chest, while grabbing the upper part of her other.

Leanne gave Gen a sympathetic look. "Yeah. I know it doesn't mean much, but I understand. She was definitely a guiding figure in my life... almost like a second mother."

Leanne laughed softly. "You can sometimes see the judgement. Because they don't understand. Anyone, realistically, could turn into a villain."

Leanne smiled weakly. "If anything, we know that better than anyone. We've got some pretty big demons. Literally, in my case."

Leanne blushed and looked down at her hands. "It has to do with my powers. Essentially, I can tear portals into a demon dimension, pull out their shadows, and control them. However, it's really unstable, mostly because they all really want to get out and kill us all." Leanne shivered. "They're constantly in my dreams, and their prince... he wants me to let them out. Constantly promises to make me their queen. And even if I try not to, sometimes the portals open. It's an almost constant battle." Leanne blushed even deeper. "Sorry, I didn't mean to rant."

"Yeah." Leanne said, smiling back softly as well. "But... you're not afraid of me?"

Leanne nodded. "I suppose that makes sense. Usually I don't get the friendliest reactions, however." She cringed. "Mostly I get called a monster, or asked why I even try to be a superhero. Or that I belong with the villains."

Leanne smiled at Gen. "Good thing we get to prove them wrong, huh?"

Leanne grinned. Perhaps she'd found a real friend. Someone who wouldn't judge her. "So, what comes next with the runes?"

Leanne nodded. "If they restrict you too much, you'll never learn full control."

Leanne took Gen's hands. "Only you know your limits. But you'll also never find out what you can do if you don't try. Trust yourself." She smiled.

"Of course! At least, I'll do my best." Leanne said, hoping she wasn't making a promise she couldn't keep.
