You'd be surprised how often this happens. It's happened to me once or twice as well. Just writing it out with everything you remember gives you the proper clues for your own google search.

New to this. Do I just comment on my post that it’s solved or is there another way to formally mark it as such?

Yes, always post a new comment when your book is solved.
The topic header can be edited and marked Solved by either a moderator or the OP (you, the original poster) - but currently this can only be done on the "Desktop version" of the Goodreads website.

I wish I could find the book that I'm searching for like you but nobody's answering and the post was followed by tons of other ones

what should I do ?"
We recommend that people bump their own threads (no one else's threads) every 30+ days. Or sooner if you can add more information.
Also, add more details to the topic header (such as plot but no spoilers, main characters, story's location and time period, when you read the book, etc.). Most people only scan the headers. If your header sounds too generic, they might not click to read the details.

Create a new topic and d..."
No, in this huge group we want members to bump only their own request threads every 30+ days, not create duplicates threads which will be closed.
