Given our start date for Blue Train, I have been trying in the new year to tackle some other books. I just finished The Cheltenham Square Murders, by John Bude, and am looking to start one of Martin Edward's great collections of golden age short stories, all centered around a theme. This one is Christmas.

I was wondering the same, Pghfan, and thought to suggest a short story to fill our several wait days to start Blue Train. Your Martin Edward collection of short stories should offer a title that interested PI's can jump aboard with. Pick one you want and those who can secure a copy can join in. How does that sound?

Sounds fine. If anyone can get the book, the title is Silent Nights: Christmas Mysteries. Let us know if you are in.

I'll look for it and let you know how I do. Anyone else? :-)

To note: Previously I nom'd another title in this author group (the train in snow mystery) a while ago but it got out-voted. No biggie just that I always had interest to read one of this collection. Hope I can find this one.

Nicole (nicolevickers) | 1814 comments I'm game for anything! This week I'm reading The Tale of the Tenpenny Tontine, which is the 3rd Anty Boisjoly mystery (we read the first, The Case of the Canterfell Codicil) in 2020.

I was wondering about the Anty Boisjoly books. I remember liking the first and knew there was a second, but not a third. Perhaps we could read one this year.

Nicole (nicolevickers) | 1814 comments Mark, it's really good! I read the second (The Case of the Ghost of Christmas Morning) in December, and couldn't wait to start this one. This series is witty and clever, and keeps me on my toes! In the book I'm reading now, Anty describes his areas of expertise as "mixology, theatre criticism, the Charleston, and the Shimmy", lol!

Pi's, have at it w/Jan. and read/discuss what you like. My budget is a little tapped now so I can't get the Silent Night: Christmas Mysteries Kindle copy (if any of you know a link to a free copy PLZ post here ;-) ). And Ammy sample pages gives me the Blue Carbuncle or similar. If I can grab a copy of Silent Night: Christmas Mysteries, I'll read what you're reading and join in. If you decide to go w/something else, that's okay 2.

As for Feb., let's see wha happens w/Blue Train (LM gave us an update) and go from there. It's all good.

I'm fine with taking a break till Blue Train starts. Plenty to read anyway!
