Ellie decides not to share with Grant the threats to her family’s life. What did you make of her choice? Best she could do at the time or not her best judgment in that moment?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Ellie doesn't really know Grant at this stage so it makes sense she is cautious. I get she is really scared to tell him but I'm always surprised that characters don't go to the police when they are threatened. And try to deal with the criminals themselves.. it never works out well.

~Melissa~ | 429 comments It didn't really feel as if she had any options for who she could tell at the time it happened. She wasn't portrayed as having friends to confide in. It was just her and her mom - along with being friends with the murdered couple. Yes, she met Grant a few times but not enough to trust. I like Lisa do wonder why people don't tell the police - granted she never saw the person that was in her car nor did she really hear his voice since he whispered so you couldn't fault her since what would she really be able to tell them.

Lynn (ftbooklover) Even though we know Grant through his thoughts, Ellie doesn't know him other than his infrequent visits when they met at the barbeques.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3484 comments I thought this was a stupid move on Elle's part. How did she think that she would be able to search for the file herself without getting caught. This time it didn't make me as angry as the first time I read the book, but it is still a TSTL decision.
