Kate Folk | 3 comments Hi there, I'm the author of two distinct works that have the same title, which is leading to confusion for reviewers: "Out There," a story that was published in The New Yorker on March 23, 2020, and "Out There: Stories," a story collection that will be published by Random House on March 29, 2022.

I noticed that two Goodreads users have recently left reviews for the book under the page for the New Yorker story (they are the two most recent reviews posted on the story page). I updated the description for the story page to clarify that it is for only the New Yorker story, rather than the entire book. I'm wondering if there's a way to move the reviews that are clearly for the book over to the page for the book? And if there is any way to prevent this mixup from happening for future reviewers. I didn't think it would be right to merge the two entries, as they are different works (though a version of the story "Out There" is included in the book "Out There: Stories", along with 14 other stories). Thanks for any help!

Emily | 17614 comments Hi Kate,
I am merging (essentially deleting) the New Yorker entry into the book entry. It will take a while for everything to update. This is our usual procedure for handling short stories not published by themselves that appear in an anthology elsewhere.
If you find someone posts it again by itself, just post again here.
