Hey everyone! Thank you all for joining this little nerdy book club. I am happy that you all decided to join us!
I have a few books that I've been thinking about reading for January but I can't make up my mind for a group read book.
Sooo... let's take a poll.

Romance?
Sci Fi?
Or
Fantasy?

(Sub genres are okay, too. So if you like paranormal romance, for example, vote for that. )

Ashlee | 11 comments hmmm that's a hard one... what about sci-fi romance or romantic fantasy lol. I'm really not helpful.

Ashlee...I'm going to put your vote as romance....but as a sub genre romance vs. a contemporary romance. 😉

Laurie Peterson | 33 comments How about sci-fi? You’re gonna have a tough job settling on first book! I’ll give anything a try :)

Jenna (bookendbeans) | 13 comments I’m really open to anything! But since that’s not helpful in deciding my order of preference:
1. Romance
2. Fantasy
3. Sci-Fi

Jenna (bookendbeans) | 13 comments Number 2 was supposed to say Fantasy…not sure where it went. Think some wizardry was at work.

Laurie..I know! there are just so many books on my TBR lists... I'll make a decision by Sunday. I figure I'll post our January book then.
Hey everyone I forgot to say that if you know of a book you really want to read (for January or any month coming up), make a new discussion, and use the title/author of the book as the topic.

Jenna (bookendbeans) | 13 comments Amy- here’s a suggestion and it’s only a suggestion! I’m totally fine with you making the call on what book. But might be helpful, so that it doesn’t have to fall on you every month? I did something similar in an in person book club, and we might be able to make it work online.

What if everyone (who wants to) puts in one option for a book by let’s say tomorrow night at a certain time. Then everyone has by Sunday at midnight (your time zone) to vote on which book we read, with the caveat that you can’t vote for the book you suggested.

And then the next month we can do the same thing- individuals whose books didn’t get picked for Jan can submit the same book if they’d like for Feb.

It worked pretty well for our group.

Just a thought. I’m all for you picking the book too! Might just be a way to lessen the decision load on you.

Jenna, thanks for your thoughts. I might do something like this. That could really work if people were good voters. I've got a couple of book ideas for January. Maybe we could work this idea in for February.

Jenna (bookendbeans) | 13 comments Yea it does depend on the group’s activity and may be a good option for future months once we get rolling and see how participation goes!

Excited to see what we’ll be reading!

KIM (2getkim) | 1 comments I’ve started reading Kurtherian Gambit series by Micheal Anderle and I’m loving it. Humor, fantasy, and all around great book. Starts with Death Becomes Her if anyone wants to jump on this bandwagon.
