Let's generate some traffic on our awesome Geek Bomb Book Club goodreads page! I know that for Patrons, we discuss the books we're reading in the #reading chat, but that's for paid members only, so let's move it here too, so everyone can talk about the books they're reading!

What books are you starting 2022 with?

Right now, I'm reading the English Translation of Heaven's Official Blessing vol. 1 (Tian Guan Ci Fu) by Mo Xiang Tone Xiu

I love that Goodreads has a book goal!
I posted this on twitter to keep me accountable:

My #BookGoal for 2022 is to read a minimum of 4 books every month

- 1 for
@GeekBomb
Book Club
- 1 for
@nerdist
Book Club
- 1 self-improvement
- 1 guilty pleasure

Bonus points if I make it to 65 books for the year.

So far, I'm reading Project Hail Mary, I finished all 3 of the Blood & Ash series (4th is out March!) and started Unthethered Soul which has been recommended to me more than once

*Arrow a generation of vipers by Clay Griffith - this is a continuation of the flash the haunting of Barry Allen book that I read last year
*Supergirl volume one last daughter of krypton
*Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P Manansala

I also want to read the next book in the 'In death' series by J D Robb and Fire study by Maria V Snyder and complete the study series

Nick Lanzetta | 7 comments Hi GBBC! I'm Nick (blckblt23 on discord). I love Goodreads so I hope this group is active and we get some good chats going! I set my goal at 50 books for 2022. I didn't reach my 2021 goal because life got in the way of reading, but I am very determined to make it this year! I really want to make a dent into my TBR this year (if that's even possible) so I am hoping to get a lot of reading done! I loved Project Hail Mary and cant wait to talk about it next week.

My goal this year is to read more books than I buy. But working in a book store with an employee discount.... that's very difficult.

message 6: by Becky (new)

Becky | 1 comments My reading goal for this year is 36 books and to keep a reading journal. I also want to finish reading the Wheel of Time series.

I'm diving into a couple of Agatha Christie novels this month (Murder on the Orient Express and The Mysterious Affair at Styles). I'm also reading If the Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy and Blood Hollow by William Kent Krueger.

message 7: by Aaron (new)

Aaron (gamewizard001) | 3 comments Currently rereading Running With The Demon by Terry Brooks (Book 1 of The Word and Void trilogy and the precursor to The Shannara Chronicles).

Going to be starting my 3rd listen to The Sandman audiobook this weekend in preparation for the next Nerdist book club.

No goal this year, just read as much as time allows.

I'm currently reading The Wolf by J.R. Ward
About to start Project Hail Mary for Geekbomb and Sandman for Nerdist. After that, I am continuing a couple series I'm trying to complete.
My goodreads goal is to read 200 which is achievable normally, but I'm trying to read more of the physical books on my tbr this year and not go down the kindle rabbit hole of romance and smutty books that usually up my reading numbers.

Avery Jones (averyadventurous) | 6 comments My reading goal for this year is 45. I hope to eventually work my way up to at least managing 50 every year.

Besides reading Project Hail Mary and listening to The Sandman audio, I’m currently reading All of Us Villains by Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman.

My tbr is already ridiculous and there are so many exciting books coming out this year so I honestly have no real plan as far as what all I’m going to read. I just kind of pick them depending on my mood.

message 11: by Nick (new)

Nick Lanzetta | 7 comments I always pick my next book depending on my mood. I read a lot of different genres and usually like to change it up between books. I just started Different Seasons by Stephen King, gonna finally find out what the Shawshank Redemption is all about!

message 12: by Colleen (new)

Colleen Villasenor | 6 comments I set my reading goal at 60. I read 74 last year so I hope to do better, but I'm trying to stay realistic. Besides the reading for NBC and GBBC, I'm reading an anthology of science fiction by women writers from the 1950s and 60s, The Barbarian Nurseries by Hector Tobar, and one of Che Guevara's diaries called Otra Vez which he calls a continuation of his motorcycle diaries

message 13: by Andre (new)

Andre Haftevani | 8 comments I want to read at least 12 books this year plus more if I get into liking audiobooks.

I'm currently reading the Well of Ascension and going to look into books of mythology (especially Native American, Middle Eastern, and Celtic). Beyond that, I'll be going into the recommendations people have made like Circe, Name of the Wind, and Project Hail Mary.

message 14: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (scruffydruid) | 1 comments Set a goal of 40 for this year. Haven’t actually set a reading goal before, but figured why not?

Currently between books and waiting for my holds at the library, but I do want to finish the Witcher series books this year.
