Last night, I finished We Two Alone: Stories for this square. Like most story collections, there were one or two stories that worked less well for me than others, but overall I really enjoyed this one. The final story is about 100 pages long, so it's more of a novella. I liked that this collection featured Chinese characters living all around the world and that some stories were historical and some comtemporary.

I read The Spoon Stealer for this square. There was such quiet but competent storytelling. A lot of emotion and wonderful family relationships. It was a truly lovely read.
