Seems like an odd cover, Cherie with a train and a woman with a gun. Hopefully I'll get back to reading next year. I got sick and just kind of gave up on reading except for last month, I started stepping it back up.

I love the name of the series, "Eva Destruction". It gave me my daily chuckle. Sometimes you surprise me with your book choices, Cherie. I may have to give it a go some time. It's available through Kindle Unlimited.
Oh, I like Max Tudor. I have read them all so far and still like them. There is an eighth book coming out next year I think.
Dawn - I‘m waiting for the second Max Tudor book from my library. Number 3 is available but I didn’t want to read out of order if they build on one another.Roz - my book choices surprise me too, at times. 🤪. I have laughed out loud three or four times already and I haven’t finished 100 pages of Eva Destruction yet.
Jannene - I know how hard it is to get back to the reading, especially after being sick. I had a slump in Oct/Nov but audiobooks kept me struggling along because I couldn’t seem to want to sit down with a book and read. I think I ‘m over it now..
So, I listened to the #3 Max Tudor and currently have #4 in ebook downloaded but not started yet. The library has book #5 in audio so I suggested that they purchase #4 in audio. My library accepted my suggestion to purchase The Unbreakable Bladesong Druid in audio and I am currently listening to it. This is the last book in the series.
I am currently reading Eva Destruction #2 and have #3 on hand (I purchased them all, including the short story 1.5).
I have pre-ordered the newest Pendergast book which will be my next released in January.
I finished The Unbreakable Bladesong Druid, which completed the series. I really liked the ending and where the book went. I am reading the 3rd Eva Destruction book but I doubt if I will finish it before tomorrow.
I need to do a better wrap, but I counted 20 series killed and 2 abandoned. I finished 7 orphan books. Many of the series killed were also started this year, but I did not keep track of them to actually separate them out. I think only four will be carrying over to my "long list" for next year. I really need to work some of them off in 2023.
Wow, that's quite an achievement Cherie. I never seem to do very well with series outside of buddy reads.
20, that's impressive. I only completed 12 this year and 4 of them were new series I started this year. I abandoned 7.
Good Luck killing off some of your long list next year!

I started weeding through mine and if I wasn't still in love with the series I got rid of them. I said goodbye to Jack Reacher, Alex Cross, Eve Duncan, Kay Scarpetta and am thinking of Catherine Coulter.

Dom and I have Pendergast on our list too.
Cherie - have you read Donna Leon’s Commissario Brunetti’s series set in Venice, Italy? I am really enjoying the series - there are 32 books; the 33rd publishes in March.

I parted ways with Cross and Scapetta many moons ago. I loved early Scarpetta but around the (view spoiler) I started to lose interestest. Eventually I couldn't stand her ego any more!
Yes her ego and that of her niece, Lucy is tiring. I feel bad for Pete because she always makes him sound like an idiot.
