Roxie reaches Fortnum’s and immediately sees kindred spirits in Indy, Ally & Jet. How are they alike? In what way does she differ from them?

They were all hot, fashionable, kick ass and take names dames. At least that is what the author wants me to think. Roxie was looking for a place to lay low until she figured things out, she had no intention of sticking around and being a part of their little group.

I think Roxie was drawn to them but felt so little about herself, that she didn’t measure up, that it created a barrier for her truly bonding and trusting them. Billy did a lot of damage.

[Anita]

I agree that Billy did a number on her self-esteem, but when people want to help you and you hold them at bay while at the same time putting them in danger, that's just stupid to me.
