MC is around 30+, at a point after he falls into a garbage dumpster I believe it is, whenever he falls asleep he goes into the future(or past) the past is modern while its fantasy in future, the 2 things are intertwined so effecting one effects the other,
I remember the first book being called white and 2nd being called black, but that is not helpful at all

Basically it is about a man who is going into another reality when he falls asleep that is more medieval and then dealing with the reality of today which is bioterrorists i think?
