Vignesh (vignesh_md) | 1 comments Hello everyone,
My name is Vignesh, I am a college graduate of year 2021, moved to Bangalore recently in June, 2022 as my office re-opened offline.
I am a amateur reader, who's trying to make reading a habit more than a hobby.
Currently, I don't have a favorite genre to start with but I am mostly interested in fiction and books with historical events embedded into them.
Looking forward to knowing you all through the forum.

message 202: by Manohar (new)

Manohar Kumar | 1 comments Hi all,
I am Manohar, recently shifted to Bangalore where I work as a software engineer. I love reading fiction, guilty of reading best sellers mostly. I love reading books about socially awkward(for lack of better term) individuals, like “Curious case of dog in nighttime” , “Eleanor oliphant is completely fine” etc etc. Looking forward to suggestions in humour books(tough genre).

message 207: by Punit (last edited Mar 02, 2023 11:07PM) (new)

Punit | 1 comments The first lockdown during the first wave of COVID-19 converted me into a bookworm (non-academic books) from a lousy reader. I was always fond of books but started reading thoroughly after getting free time to explore myself during that lockdown period. Now, I read Hindi and English books and write short stories, poems, and one-liners.

I always see a scarcity of book readers and groups like this. There are groups for everything ranging from sports, memes, traveling, and so on.. but the group of book lovers is sporadic. I like to talk and discuss with book readers and am glad to be part of this group.
Looking forward to meeting new people who still read in the era of ample digital distractions.

Thanks, धन्यवाद !

message 208: by Subhashish (new)

Subhashish Bhadra | 1 comments Hi all -

I'm Subhashish - a 31 year old from Bangalore. Been in the city for six years now, first in the Lavelle Road area and now in Koramangala for the past year.

Like many of you, I love books. Have been reading and writing since I was in middle school. Discovered early on that I prefer reading non-fiction: history, politics, current affairs, biographies, memoirs, etc.

Some of my favourite authors are Hussain Zaidi, Pratap Bhanu Mehta, Sanjeev Sanyal, Indu Sundaresan, Salman Rushdie, Shashi Tharoor, and Kapil Komireddi.

Reading has been a solitary pursuit and my 'alone time' from the hustle-bustle of everyday life. But I'm now looking to engage with fellow bookworks and be part of a community.

message 209: by Akanksha (new)

Akanksha Agrawal | 1 comments Hello Subhashish,
I am Akanksha now an Advocate practicing in Delhi,
I love books as much as I love the Law... Unlike you, I read mostly fiction, and write some incomplete things... I also read a lot of non-fiction, mostly in the field of history, geography and autobiography.

I hope you find some read buddies here, nothing is more satisfying than sharing a thought, an incident, a remark from a book and understanding it in the same sense, I hope you find it a lot, here or anywhere knock heads with some fellow bookworms.
