Well I loved the cartoon and Ichabod Crane cartoon too! Both Disney versions I think?!

I didn't, but now have that earworm:
Oh, the Lord is good to me/and so I thank the Lord/for giving me the things I need/the sun the rain and the appleseed and I want to say we sang that in Brownies (Canadian style) or Girl Guides but can't be sure.
Yes, I did a quick search and some site or poster called Scouter Mom mentions it.
Girl Scouts is the American version, but they started at different ages a bit when I was a kid (we moved to CA for a couple of years when I was doing that stuff.)

Not me--I loathe beer ;)

Time to drink some beer, eh?

While poems are made by fools like me. Only God can make a tree...
Now let's go drink some Canadian beer!!!
My brother is a truck driver. And he made a delivery somewhere in Canada. He said that all you heard at the end of every sentence was, "Eh?" I absolutely think that is so adorable.

Your brother is exaggerating :). However, we say it a lot. I rarely say it living in the States, but when I go home (I use that word for where I live and also where I grew up) it comes right back and then follows me for a while when I return (my kids tease me about it.)
In some provinces it's said more often, but I am quite deaf to noticing how often we say it (but I do notice it when I go to certain provinces so it has to be more there.)

That's a good one to know; I have relatives who need this kind of support :)

The growth has slowed down, but it's still growing! It's hard to believe that it's really 8 billion!
https://www.worldometers.info/world-p...
I just double checked and it hit 4 billion somewhere in 1974. It was 2 billion in 1927 so the growth rate has slowed down because WW II happened in that stretch! (27 years from 2 billion to 4 and 28 years from 4 to 8.)
BUT of course doubling from 2 to 4 didn't have nearly the impact that doubling to 8 did.

Actually, that's only happening in a some countries--in many places people are having more than 2 kids still.
If every couple had only 2 kids the population would also shrink--maintaining a population require more than 2 kids born per couple (can't recall the number, but it depends on good hygiene, food and health care).

No problem. I got curious as to learn when it was 4 billion people to see how long it took to double so I looked it up. Lo and behold the chart went back farther than I'd anticipated.

I played oboe grades 7-9, but we didn't have middle school, only K-7 and 8-12 (but the grade 8s had a separate band from the rest and the one in grade 7 was brand new.)
