Leah, please let us live vicariously through you with your reactions to the rest of the books LOL

Yay! I was just thinking I would absolute LOVE a good hardcopy of this.

YES THIS! I am so backing that kickstarter. Thank goodness this crew is here to make sure we don't miss it...
So sad I missed the Dungeon Crawler Carl one last year... hadn't started reading the books yet...
Also dittoing Emily on looking forward to vicariously living through @Lea's experiences... you can't see it but I'm rubbing my hands together in evil anticipation...
Volume 2 definitely dials back the pain of the end of Volume 1 a bit, but don't grow complacent... death is permanent, for the most part, in this series, unless there's a strong reason for it not to be, like the Antinium Option...
TV rules still apply, I guess... if the death doesn't explicitly happen onscreen, maybe they secretly survived until you see the body...

Nah, I've read and seen too much, I don't even trust that beheading actually kills anymore :/

Should we schedule a specific date?"
I thought we scheduled it forJuly 18th?... After Burning Witch 2-3, before the next Thundamoo BR... might have been August 18th, as well... it was all tentative somewhere...
EDIT: nevermind, that's the "cozy slot"...
I think the real plan was on June 25th, in the "LitRPG slot" once we run out of Dungeon Crawler Carl books, before starting a new LitRPG... then I kinda want to do Bacon Master of the Apocalypse, which me and Ann-Marie picked up for $2 on Chirp awhile back...

Speaking of Cozy--I haven't heard any plans to continue Cinnamon Bun yet.
Choko was in charge of those BRs... altho Ravensdagger BRs were also vaguely planned for after Burning Witch, and interwoven with more Thundamoo...

Just as long as it shows up in the spreadsheet! I will find them when they happen.
@Chess, re: Vinyl... damn I am tempted, but I would feel so guilty... I feel like Vinyl fans should have first crack, not people who don't even have a record player...

I actually think it's like a music album companion piece to Gravesong... Gravesong is set in the Innverse and is separate from the Wandering Inn storyline (and I think is intended as a new potential entry point for new readers that isn't as daunting as Wandering Inn)... the MC of Gravesong is an actor/singer, so I assume it's an album of some of her songs, or covers of real songs since if they're like Erin, they're taking advantage of Earth culture in Innworld...
I'm not sure if the MC of Gravesong is the [Pop Star] mentioned a few times in Wandering Inn in later volumes... that person is on Terandria or the other continent...
EDIT: I checked the wiki, and yea... she's [Humble Actor] from the group chat at the beginning of volume 2...

It's super new... just came out last week... I don't think it was available anywhere early as a web serial... not even on Patreon... this is pirateaba's first traditionally published book, basically...

Sure does... I put it in the thread title sometime last month, I think?... maybe even in March...

It's all good... you popping in gets me excited... just need some book 13 news :D

OMG Yes!
I'm really interested to see what Gravesong is like too.

I think it's authorial... Erin is definitely more of an optimist... once she gets her situation sorted a bit...
I think it takes awhile to get a feel for the size of Innworld, compared to Earth... I think I mostly learned from the wiki and fan maps... (view spoiler)
It's got me downloading the audiobook... not sure I have time for a re-read... but definitely gonna listen to a few chapters today, at least, and reminisce...

Welcome to all new blood!!!
I think I talked Quinn into Wandering Inn with the same caveats in one of the Dungeon Crawler Carl threads...

Damn tempting... if I weren't a week behind on BRs...
My Volume 1 re-read kinda became a real thing... read about 1/3 so far...
Thoughts on third read-through:
Worth noting to new readers: maybe my memory is faulty, but I think the author eases off on so much internal monologuing in later volumes as they grow as a writer... (chapters also get alot longer, so they generally start running until the end of an event, instead of pausing in the middle of Erin dealing with Acid Flies or Rock Crabs, as I noticed happening in the early chapters)...
More a note for re-readers and changing opinions of characters: (view spoiler)

I struggle to see how any of the accepted maps of Izril/Issrysil are "triangle top, shoe-shaped bottom"

Looks more like triangle top, triangle bottom, like a sideways fast forward button... maybe Selyss just sucks at map drawing?...

Also, the top half looks like Texas:

Near the end of my Volume 1 re-read... I forgot how unlikeable Ryoka is in book 1... but it feeds into one of the big things about the series, that opinions change so drastically about so many characters, over time...
It also made me think about, (view spoiler)

Any maps you see are fan-made, I assume that there will be no official map made until the series is created.
Yea, I know... by the time any official maps are created, the unofficial top google results will have been these for 10-20 years, tho... I've definitely shared them around... outside of the comments about Selyss' drawing, I don't think too many comments have been made in the series about the exact shape of things...

I just started a month ago with the first book, so we can go through it somewhat together.
But while I love to hear other people’s comments, I’m not used to sharing my opinion yet 🫣"
Sure thing! I have too many opinions about the things I read, so I can share them enough for the two of us lol.

That's a good thing to remember yourself, Nirkatze... since I spoiled so much way back when I first started the series, I've been stuck waiting 5-10 years for the audiobooks to reach Volume 8... it's bonkers... I can't wait to experience it and get all the details...

Oh, I'm remembering. There're a few folks I've got my fingers crossed for... like (view spoiler) ...

"Remember the comic? I had written another portion that I wanted to translate into comic-form during COVID, and that caused delays, but I realized I should just do the ending portion.
For reference, it was about 40,000 words already that I had written, and I was going to write the ‘ending’. Guess how many words it is now at the end of the month?
82,000 words. Well, I need to run it by editing and a draft or two"

pirateaba's assistant has said there will be a Kickstarter for a physical edition of Book 1 later this year.
