Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments I was thinking coconut water or milk. Found this article, which is old, but gives an idea. Sounds like a lot of sucking it up and dealing with it, which sounds horrendous. And bloody drug companies...

Kristie | 19136 comments Wow, still though... sweating, urinating!? Yikes. There is no way to avoid liquids touching your skin or being consumed. I feel like I would have to live somewhere with little rainfall and low humidity. I'm already a bit of a weather wimp, but that would certainly put me over the edge. It must be unbelievably difficult to live with.

Thanks Kristie, another bit of mostly useless info to add to the store!

But as Janice says, what does he drink? I'm going to have to read that book!

message 155: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments He says in the book that he can drink water. It was the outer skin coming in contact with water that was the problem. And he cleans with coconut oil.

message 158: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19136 comments I think I'm going to head to New York where I've run away from my husband with my children. I'm curious to see how this works out.

Later today I will head to London where I am making poisons for the local women for their husbands and I am celebrating my 10th anniversary alone over 200 years later.

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments I'm in London where I'm sparring with an Earl. He can be so irritating.

I'm also in Florida where I've retired from being an undercover cop. There are other retired law enforcement people in the retirement community and we're hot on the case of a woman who was murdered in our pool I'm trying to keep my traumatic past a secret.

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments I'm in France, serving coffee and donuts to the soldiers. I just saw one killed in front of me. He was trying to protect some children from a bomb.

I'm also in a small village on the Welsh/English border and I'm working at a hotel. I'm not exactly sure what is going on, but I believe there was a ghost in my room. I immediately swapped rooms.

Kristie | 19136 comments I am in New Jersey where I need to defend my girlfriend who has just been set up for murdering someone.

Later today I need to go to New York where I will wake up in the back of a taxi, find a stranger living in my apartment, discover my phone is missing and there is a bloodstained knife in my pocket in its place, and then I will notice STAY AWAKE scribbled in black pen all over my skin.

I’m in 1942 England trying to find clues to the whereabouts of a missing U.S. soldier.

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments I just left England, I think where I learned lots about the dark webs, things I didn't want to know existed.

I'm also in the English countryside close to Wales where something is afoot. It may be the original of the Hound of the Baskervilles.

I'm also in rural Italy in the 1960's where my mother has been bitten by a snake. At this point, I don't know if the snake is an actual snake or a man. I've seen both coming out of the stables.

I'm still on the fence. The woman who is hosting on the 14th keeps saying it's funny, but I'm finding it a little "icky" at this point - and confusing. Since I made a fuss about people coming to book club without reading or finishing the book, I have to read the whole thing. No dnf'ing for me even if I want to. I had no intention of ever picking up this book. And now I have no choice.

message 174: by Kira (new)

Kira (kiraa18) | 654 comments It was the same for me honestly. I read some glowing reviews and people do say it gets better during later parts but the romance between a kid and an adult was too much. Aww lol! I'd love to hear your thoughts about it if you make it all the way through! I left at ~85 pages in so I still don't know if it actually does get better!

I am also in prehistoric Louisiana as part of an ancient tribe. My uncle has just died, my brother has returned from a long trip and people think I am stupid and a fool. I am neither.

Jackie | 296 comments I'm in the U. S. but not sure where. I just heard a song played on the radio by a group of teenagers and asked some questions. The kid didn't know the name of the song, or who was singing it. I recognized it as I wrote and sang it 20 years ago before I disappeared and I have been assumed dead all this time.

We tell where we are in the books we are reading on Sundays. So if you are reading a book and the main character is a serial killer hunting someone down in New York City, then 'you' are a serial killer hunting someone down in New York City. lol It's a lot of fun to see 'where' everyone is. There where is supposed to be the setting of the story, but we don't always know that and enjoy elaborating by telling what we are doing as well as where we are. :)

What Kristie said. Ask yourself the question, "Where am I and what am I doing if I was the character in the book that I'm reading?" We do this every Sunday just for fun.

Some of the comments are pretty funny.

I had to spy on your profile page to find out what the gene editing book was. Added!

Janice (jamasc) | 59884 comments I'm in London where I recently received a gift of ornamental phalluses. They are quite intriguing.

I'm also somewhere in the US I think. I'm a ghost, and just realized that someone else can actually see me and talk to me.
