2022 Resolutions

I want to aim for reading over 100 books for the first time this year. 2021 was the most I've ever read, but I think that I can probably beat that record quite easily so long as I don't get distracted (video games kill my progress when it comes to reading lol)
For 2022, I'd like to put a little more effort to talk about the stories that I enjoyed reading. Either by writing a review or snagging a friend to talk about it. I've been doing my own style of hibernation, and it'll be good to be a little more social with book pals. =)
My main one is staying on-top of my sheet/GR ratings/reviews, instead of letting them pile up into a monster I don't want to tame...
My bookish resolutions:
1. Read 80 books
2. Read 30 owned audiobooks
3. Read 2 shelves of owned books
4. Reread 4 beloved series
5. Read 20 physical books
6. Read 20 2021/2022 new releases

1.Read more fantasy and sci-fi. 2.Shave off a few series from my tbr pile.
3. Finish off my reviews for books I have read and not keep them lagging behind.
4. Keep up with the buddy-reads I am planning to participate.
5. Read a friend's recommendation every month.
To those with resolutions regarding reviews, how do you decide which books you'll review and which ones you won't?

I was lumping ratings and reviews together... the longer I wait to review, the less I remember... but also, the longer I wait, IF I remember something, it was clearly a good book or a bad book, and I say something about it... the forgettable books and 3-star rating books get less comments from me, unless I'm saying this is when I gave up on the series getting good/amazing...

Makes it simple ;) I usually write a few lines of how I felt immediately after completing the book and go back and fill in a "full" review later. Later is usually within a few days but I got way behind this year due to a book slump and no motivation to read or write reviews. Luckily I seem to be remembering how I felt about the books even a few months back so it's not been too bad yet.

Just don't wait nearly 2 years, like this idiot ;)

I give a rating to every book that I read but I rarely ever write an actual review for them. I've been considering trying to write a few here and there this year.
My bookish goal for 2022 is to read a book each month outside of my normal genres. Typically I read sci-fi & fantasy for fun and then personal development books or books on writing. My goal is to read other books outside these comfort zones.January I knocked out Pride and Prejudice so starting strong. 😊
My non-bookish goal is to edit 10+ chapters a month and have the book to alpha readers by October so I can work on book 2 during preptober / NaNoWriMo while they read book 1.
Bookish goal: Read 12 (physical) books I already ownCrafting goal (Crochet, knitting, cross stitch, etc): finish projects I've already started before starting new ones 😭
Just found this page--enjoyed reading everyone's resolutions!I want to take a page out of Narilka's book, and just do at least a few lines of my thoughts on every book after I read it. And maybe post on Amazon as well as GR--I've seen authors say that the best thing a reader can do to support them is to leave reviews.
Emily, I like how you have a crafting goal as well--I'm going to tack on to that too. So:
Review goal--at least a few lines about each book.
Reading goal--to not sweat the numbers, and just read.
Audiobook goal--to try out some authors/series I wouldn't've normally bothered with on audio.
BR goal--to enjoy lots of BRs but not to let myself get upset when I can't fit them all in...
Crafting goal--to build my dosh-garnit bookshelves so I can get my books out of boxes and off the floor. Summer project.

I really should write at least a little something when I read a book. I think it makes you remember the book better and means you're a bit more "actively" reading. I just find it really hard to write something about the whole book. I do like discussing parts in BRs though, I'm very much enjoying them all so far this year.
Also yay to building your shelves! I believe in you :)
Waaa! Thank you Emily!Yeah, I've been looking at writing reviews as a skill that I need to develop--how to coalesce my feelings into something concise and communicable. Or just quirky. I can do quirky.
My wish to be better in review writing... I'm reading ARC with netgalley ... All because I don't want add spoilers to my reviews... That's so hard...
Finish what's physically on my bookshelf. I have a small bookshelf by my bedside where I keep only books I've never read before and it's full to the point of having to double-stack my rows. Help! The problem is I keep adding to it as reads, but none of them are "buddy reads" so anything that comes up as a buddy read just shunts them down the pile. And if it happens to non-fiction (typically history or baseball-related), it really goes down the pile. Those Ron Chernow books are angry at me.

This year, I'm hoping to read more new releases from 2021-2022 since I didn't get to a lot of the ones I wanted to read last year.
