I plan to find and read 20 cozy cat mysteries this year! Last year I didn’t do to well but found new authors to enjoy!

I am trying for the Catnip level but probably won't get there I failed last year, lol.
#1. “Bells and Bones” 0.5 Knitty Kitty mysteries By Tracey Drew. She is a new author to me.
This book is heavy on the action packed adventure & less on the solving of the mystery but it is prequel.
Both Pearl & Kit are adorable, sleek black cats with great personalities. I look forward to buy the first book in the series. If you like Tracy Drew on her Facebook page you will get this exciting prequel.
2. Wendy Heuvel’s Faith & Foils cozy mystery series book #1 “Fishers of Menace”. She is a new author to me & lives in the same province as me, Ontario & country Canada. I have join many cozy mystery authors so far this year & received many prequels to many series!
This is not a prequel it is a full length ebook.
The main character has a cat named Pumpkin who helps solve the mystery & helps rescue her owner! Pumpkin is an adorable cat! If you are a bird watcher then you will enjoy the main character spending a fair amount of time bird watching along the river banks and tell you what she sees as she tries to solve the murder.
#3) BLACK CAT and the Secret in Dewey’s Diary. 4th in the series. By Elaine Faber. I love ❤️ BLACK CAT!
I don’t like the main character Kimberly, she’s an air hair & naïve. The others are ok. Unfortunately this novel has 2 story lines, one that has BLACK CAT as the main character & the second that has Kimberly his person who I don’t like. It feels like the 3 story lines don’t match well & should have not been separate stories? One is the diary that could have been a stand alone & one of black cats relatives could have been in it. The second was a murder that points a finger at Kimberly & the 3rd is a catnapping! So the murder & cat napping should have been it’s own story but the diary set in Germany should have contained more details & Germany 🇩🇪 but didn’t.
Still I love BLACK CAT & will read future novels as long as he stays the main character.
#4) Julia Koty’s new series book 1: Cats & Catnapping. I love the cat named Arnold! His own suddenly understands him on her start to a new life not living with her sister. She’s driving for a while before she realizes that she can understand her cat! This is a cozy mystery of a cat that gets catnapped. It’s a short story to begin this series & get to know the main character & her cat. I am looking forward to read the rest of this series!
Miranda James pen name for Den James is one of my favourite authors & the second author of mystery novels my mom introduced me to in my 20’s. My favourite series is the Southern Ladies Mysteries! The author has only written 4 about these delightful sisters in Mississippi called Miss An’gel & Miss Dickce.
I have read novels #1-4, & 6, in the Cat in the Stacks. Diesel is a big Maine cat! I love that he warbles, & makes other cute kitty sounds! He is always with his owner Charlie who works in the archives of a college. All the mysteries are about historical documents, diaries, extra. He keeps you in suspense until the end of the novel as to who the murder is & who did the stealing.
If you love history & cats you will love this series like I do.
#6) Year Round Trouble by multiple authors. All were good short stories by many authors (I think 13).I really enjoyed reading many of the Fear Familiar novels in my 20’s with a bit of romance added into each mystery. Familiar travelled to other countries unlike Trouble his grandson cat who only travels around the US with his owner. Familiar the cat was not conceited like I found Trouble to be that’s why I like the Fear Familiar series much better by Carolyn Haines.
#7) Pumpkins & Polergeists by Nyx Halliwell from the series Confessions of a closet medium. My daughter loves this author & series! I thought the ebook was good. I have 2 more in the set of 3 I bought together. So I will comment when I read more of her novels.
#8) A Spiritual Tail by Leighann Dobbs, Mystic Notch series. An exciting, at time fast paced novel with “Wise cats” Ferrel cats & house cats that talk only to each other. Pandora is the main character cat. She is the best & helps her human Willa, who I like as well, out with the mystery or mysteries in each novel. This is the 2nd novel in the series. My daughter enjoyed this novel too. It has some paranormal elements in the novels to that keep them exciting!
9) Seven-Year Witch by Angela M. Sanders. She is one of my favourite authors! It’s about a librarian witch & her familiar Rodney. He’s adorable! No one knows the main character Josie is a witch & she didn’t know until she came to this small town & became the librarian. Boos talk to her! She is learning magic through her grandmother’s letters as she has passed on. This is book 2 in this new series.
Athini and Wisteria’s Milan Catwalk Mystery AdventureAnother great adventure this I enjoyed very much, too. The catwalk with lots of fashion and very much action. Love the cat, dog and unique characters and how they help each other to sort out the mystery. I enjoyed very much. Very much recommend to read.
10) An excellent new series by Leighann Dobbs, Silver Hollow Paranormal series. The main character owns a Pet Shop full of magical pets! Issy, the main character & her cousins (all witches) have familiars! The familiars are all a main part of the story. The mystery is solved with the help of a Cat of course!
