Please don't nominate any books already on the 2022 list https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... or that were read in 2021 https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) I’d be very happy with The Foundling but will add a nomination for Sylvester.

Moloch | 208 comments Hello!

I nominate An Infamous Army: from what I've read in this group, it sounds interesting.

Thank you

Barb in Maryland | 816 comments I'd like to nominate The Nonesuch. It came close to winning the January spot, so I figure it deserves a second chance.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ Hi Everyone!

The poll is now up. Please let me know if the poll doesn't work properly. Normally I test it out by voting myself, but I haven't made up my mind yet!

Kim Kaso | 511 comments Appreciate all you do, Carol. Happy New Year, Polk is perfectly fine with me. 😎

message 13: by Kim (new)

Kim Kaso | 511 comments Poll, not Polk…not sure how an American president name got in there, other than autoincorrect striking again. I typed “poll”, but somewhere between my checking it & hitting post, things changed. 🙄

Thank goodness, I thought it was just me!😉

Moloch | 208 comments Nice book

message 18: by Susan in NC (new)

Susan in NC (susanncreader) | 4143 comments Yay! I look forward to revisiting this one, just bummed I can’t get the audiobook (no longer on Audible or at my library).

message 19: by Kim (new)

Kim Kaso | 511 comments Maybe someone else will record it one day soon and it will become available again. I am sorry, Susan. I like some things on Audible, but I always have to have a test run, narration can make or break the experience for me.

Oh, that’s absolutely the same for me! I ordered a CD from Amazon, I feel like a dinosaur, but we have one DVD player in the house that still works! I watch all my old DVDs on it, and this is a favorite Heyer, and the narrator is Phyllida Nash, my favorite Heyer narrator! So worth having for me!

message 21: by Kim (new)

Kim Kaso | 511 comments That’s good. We still have our Bose, so we still play CDs on it.

message 22: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Oops, I totally missed the voting because of Goodreads dumping me out of threads all the time. Oh well, happy to read The Foundling! Unlike many, I enjoy the Heyers that focus more on adventure than romance, and that show the commoners and not just London aristocratic life.

message 23: by QNPoohBear (new)

QNPoohBear | 1638 comments Not my favorite but I think we could all use a break from reality and the news right now so I'm game. I'll keep voting for my hero of choice, Sir Waldo, in the future.

message 24: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Sir Waldo is delightful!

message 25: by Anne (new)

Anne | 108 comments I love The Foundling. I read it many years ago and really didn’t enjoy it but revisited it about five years ago and loved it. It’s comic and profound in equal measure and, I think, shows GH at the top of her powers. A very clever book!!

I completely agree, except I adored it from the first reading 😊

I just love the Foundling. I feel that it’s one of her stronger tales, and is a top favorite of mine. It definitely showcases the depth of her talent, which I absolutely appreciate. It’s always a fun time to spend in a book 😊📚

message 27: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Sounds like we have similar tastes in Heyer, Crazy about Love! Arabella and The Foundling are high on my list as well.

message 28: by Susan in NC (new)

Susan in NC (susanncreader) | 4143 comments Bummed, my CD of The Foundling, as narrated by Phyllida Nash, arrived today, in new condition, but my DVD player won’t play it! Says “this disc cannot be played”!🤬 my husband has an old CD player attachment thing for an old laptop (haven’t a clue, I’m a Luddite), he’s seeing if he can get it to work, otherwise back it goes! Very annoying, why did Audible remove it?
